Yup! I might have mentioned something on Facebook, but I don't think so. I think my husband was a little sad about it. He enjoys reading everyone's cards. I told him if he wanted to, he was welcome to take over the chore. I even offered to design the card on Shutterfly or whatever, as that is really the only part I liked and he could do the rest, but of course, he never did it. I was really shocked that we continued to receive cards as long as we did. I guess this year is the death knell.
I really have no regrets. At the time, I was extremely overwhelmed with my difficult three year old and a special needs newborn. And my husband was traveling all the time. I was finding that I was beginning to hate Christmas because of all the things required to make it happen for my family. That really troubled me as a practicing Christian, so I decided to trim the fluff. Cards were definitely the low hanging fruit for me. Plus the expense of them--even just the postage was a lot. And it's not like we sent out hundreds of cards. The whole thing--I just hated it! My mom gave me some grief for not doing cards. She was very married to social expectations, but I told her firmly that it was just not a priority to me and I had to let something go or I would have a nervous breakdown.
