Master of None written by and starring Aziz Ansari on Netflix is really good. It is well written and gives an insight to the life of an Indian American living in New York. He has his parents in several episodes, too. There are 2 seasons, and it seems as if he's kind of a film buff as some episodes follow themes inspired by films. For example, there is an episode in season 2 filmed in black and white in Italy, and has the feel of a foreign film.

On Netflix, Brooklin Nine-Nine was funny for the first 2 seasons. And The Moodys was also very funny, the characters are lovable. I also liked Black Books. |

We've been watching Trapped on Amazon. There are 10 episodes and we've already seen 6 of them. At first I wanted to see it because it's a mystery set in Iceland during the snowstorm, and I am so tired of heat and sun here, that it sounded appealing. Then we got sucked into the plot. Hubby wants to binge watch the last 4 episodes tonight. It's hot and sunny here again, so it sounds like a plan.

Oh my goodness. I am so glad I started this thread! Lots of fabulous ideas.
On Outlander: that last episode where Jamie gave that "rare woman" speech before she was going to travel through the stones was a killer! I watched that speech about 10 times. I am a total sucker for the romance. Just thinking about it I want to watch it again now. I downgraded our TV after that season. I might have to upgrade while Outlander is on so I can watch it again as new episodes come out. On Breaking Bad: I know this is well-done TV, but I just could NOT get through that bathtub scene which might have been episode 1 or 2 of the first season. I know lots of folks who loved it but I just could not do it. That was a horrifying scene. On Mad Men: I just watched the first episode of this as my husband is always raving out this show. Interesting. I was entertained by having a bar in one's office (whiskey, anyone?) and shocked by the OBGYN smoking in the patient room just prior to giving a pelvic exam (and some very sexist comments). I think I will go a little further with this one. On The Americans: one of my all time favorite shows. Can't believe this season coming up is the last season. I do love my spy shows. Another favorite of mine: Friday Night Lights. This was a great show, quite unexpected and not something I would usually consider watching...so sad when this one was over. The guy who played John in Bloodline is the one of the main characters in this show. But LOTS of great ideas. I will bookmark this thread. |
