I'm finishing The Venetian Sketchbook. It has been a good book. I tried The Cold Dish, the first Longmire book, but decided I'd rather remember the TV show. Now, I'm reading The Break-Up Book Club by Wendy Wax.

Laura, I tried reading the Longmire series too but just couldn't get in to them. I heard so many good things about the series. I did tried reading them. I made it to the fourth book. I still watch the reruns of the TV show.

I love the Longmire series, even more than Box's Joe Pickett books, which I also love.

This is why I usually read books before watching the TV show or movie. I thought it was well written, but was slow compared to the TV show, so I decided to enjoy the memories of the show.

Usually, I like the book better, so I've found I like watching a series first and then reading the book or books. But not always. I liked the Venetian Blood series on Masterpiece and then I didn't even finish the first book in the series, A Death in Vienna.

I am visiting my mother-in-law and pulled a book off her late husband's bookshelf (he's been gone almost 30 years) - The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck. I can't put the book down. It's so well written.

I am still working on The Count of Monte Cristo, but took a quick break to listen to Goodnight Beautiful by Aimee Molloy. It's a suspense with possibly unreliable narrators which I don't read a lot of, but enjoyed this one. At only 8 hours it went by quickly.

I finished Legacy by Nora Roberts, a typical book for her except that the main character is a fitness instructor who started with DVDs and ended up in streaming. I enjoy her books and especially enjoyed this angle. She referenced mirror cueing and form pointers and a bunch of things we at VF are very familiar with.

Laura, that is interesting about the main character! I was reading a number of different series that featured yoga instructors, but I think each of those series has ended.

I just finished David Baldacci's END GAME, the last in the Will Robie series.
