Overall, I enjoyed this show. Let me know what you think of the ending.

I, too, am a big fan of the Gilded Age, particularly literature about it and written during it.

The Age of Innocence --the book and the movie---is my absolute favorite.
I became interested in this era when listening to the audiobook Titan: John D. Rockefeller by Ron Chernow (author of Hamilton, from which the play is based).

what books are your favorites besides Age of Innocence? and movies? thanks!

Marge Piercy wrote a novel called Sex Wars that takes place during the Gilded Age era. It's about Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Victoria Woodhull and Anthony Comstock. It was really interesting and entertaining.

I've also been watching a lot of videos on Youtube lately.

One of my favorite non-food related channels is by Justine Leconte, a French designer who lives and works in Germany. She's always got some interesting insights. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChx...k8_pRhg/videos

“Little Gloria, Happy at Last” is a good book too. About the custody battle over Gloria Vanderbilt. Lots of pictures which fascinate me.

I watched the rest tonight. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who might watch it so I don't want to say too much, but I thought the ending was appropriate and made sense. I enjoyed it and thought it was well done. What did you think?

For fellow Julian Fellowes fans, do look for The English Game on Netflix. It just came out and it's wonderful!

I saw Tiger King. Man, I've met some crazy people before, but never that level of crazy!

I also watched Self Made on Netflix with Octavia Spencer. It was really good!

I had no idea that the new season of Call the Midwife had started. Thanks! I'll be watching that. It's a favorite show of mine.

We've been watching an old sweet series out of the U.K. called Where the Heart Is.

I've realized that both these shows pretty much require you to watch the screen fairly closely, or you'll miss something.

Kind of a hassle since I've picked up cross stitch and prefer to just listen along. Works a whole lot better with audio books, LOL!!

Oh, and I'm a fan of Call the Midwife too.
