Question Favorite GLUTE workout.

I'm on a quest for better glutes! Please list your most effective GLUTE (not thigh!) workout. I'm interested in DVD (or youtube) only. I'm interested to know how long you stuck with your workout until you saw progress and if you're still doing it.

Thanks!

I’ve had some great luck with Margaret Richard recently. Her floor work for glutes has been very effective for me. She uses a lot of bridges, Glute kickbacks and then side leg lifts For that outer thigh. I’ve done it with and without leg weights. My butt is higher now after eight weeks. I have lost a half an inch.

Squats are also good but sometimes they are hard on the knees. I also like deadlifts and high step ups but I don’t do this often and the Margaret Richard routine has been sustainable for me.

love Margaret too.

my faves:
standing: The Firm Standing Legs
floor:
Tamilee Webb I want those buns (included with I want that body DVD)
Winsor PIlates Buns & Thighs ( i know you said no thighs, but this benefits the buns a lot). either the one w/band or the Power one with a band are good.

The best glute toner I've found is using a circular resistance band around my thighs (above the knee cap) and doing side steps, in a semi squat position and standing upright (mix them up) for at least 100 steps. I've done this three times a week for at least 18 months and my 57 year old booty is tight/toned. It reactivated my lazy glute that is something I have to constantly battle due to scoliosis (yes, just one glute lazy because of it).

100 steps total of each type? 100 on the right side and 100 for the left side? I will give this a try! Thanks.

I'm kicking myself for getting rid of my Winsor Pilates Buns and Thighs dvd!

These are good. Linda Woolridge incorporates them in a lot of her band workouts. The cardio legs segment on the ResistaBarre DVD has many variations of these. Also try Monster walks with the band around the ankles as shown in that video I posted. They are a killer, especially going backwards.
I also highly recommend clamshells with a mini band above the knees. Works the gluteus medius.

Most of her workouts are floor work. Last night I did Beauty to the Bone and really liked it.

I use all her workouts and she does floor work 85% of the time rather than standing.

I also have Tamilee Webb buns of steel and haven’t done it yet however remember some of the moves as similar.

Beauty to the Bone - well chaptered and excellent menu to select the LB segments.

Home Improvement - these have long sets.
