I kind of skimmed through the video so I'm sure I missed a lot. But she did say at one point that she stands by her CLX program and workouts and that is a good way to workout.

I wonder if she is going to be coming out with a piece of equipment that mimics those machines. I like Chalene but it seems she’s always trying to sell something.
Exactly! I did love CLX though

I like Chalene and still do some of her older workouts regularly, like Ab Jam and Turbo Jam. I have been a personal trainer for a long time and have done weight training since I was very young. My favorite teacher was Cory Everson, and her ESPN show and books were excellent. Chalene’s program is not what I would recommend or do because it’s not well-balanced.

I agree with doing different body parts on different days. For people who want an efficient, balanced program, I recommend splitting upper body and lower body days, each not more than twice a week. Once someone is accustomed to weight training, then splitting up body parts more and going heavier is good. I also like doing one total body workout per week, using lighter weights. This helps build muscle endurance.

I considered paying $10 a month to Planet Fitness just to use a leg press. I hated my weighted vest, and holding heavy enough free weights for squats was not my idea of a good time. I finally decided that doing one-leg work and going slow while holding weight I don’t hate was good enough for now. When I retire and thus have extra time, I might reconsider.

We think alike, I’ve considered joining PF many times for the leg press machine and I retired from full-time work and only work 20-hours now so have the time.

I have leg day scheduled tomorrow and it’s very hot and humid here (not Texas hot but I don’t have AC in my workout room) so I am planning on doing it outside on my patio very early in the morning. Do you have any favorite unilateral leg workouts or exercises you care to share?

Hey Fitboop
are you talking about her CLX program or the one Chalene noted in the video of this thread?

My thought too - when holding weights, they MUST dig into the heels of her hands. Cringable for me.

Sorry. Said dumb stuff before watching and couldn't delete. She basically re-says the stuff I was saying, lol.

I thought that, too. She must not keep them that way all the time. With the landmine, oof! And ouch.

Does she have interesting podcast guests? I’m always looking for good fitness podcasts.
