Guess I'm destined for DOMS. I like muffins and pastries

AH HA MOMENT!
I did not associate the fasting with decreased inflammation and recovery. That makes sense!!

I was just curious as I've done some workouts that I logged as being big DOM creators, and now they don't. I'm still challenged, just not hobbling-around-sore.

Thank you ladies!!
I know we aren't supposed to discuss diet here, but it sure shows that what you eat affects everything!

Could be lack of salt. Taking Exogenous Ketones will help a LOT.

And sometimes what you don’t eat affects a whole lot too!

I rarely get DOMS.

I do challenge myself and when I do heavier workouts, I find that I am more fatigued and need more recovery time before doing one again. But I don’t really get sore.

Supposedly women get it less than men, and certain people are more prone than others, but it is not related to effectiveness of a workout.

Loaded eccentric movements are supposed to be more likely to cause DOMS. So you might get them from a ton of walking lunges and one-legged RDLs, but not as much with something else.

Hi Kate,

In my experience, that's a good sign that although you may still accomplishing the micro-tears you want for strength, that damage can be offset by things like adequate sleep, fasting, a healthy diet, if you're getting in some stretching or mobility work, drinking plenty of water.

Especially if you've been working out a long time. You've trained your body to handle all kinds of stimuli, which is great.
