Two books I just finished are The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold (I watched the movie when it came out but never read the book, until now) and The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend by Katarina Bivald. I enjoyed both.

I'll have to make a library run tomorrow since my stack of books is depleted.

I have a question for everyone as 2022 comes to an end. What was your favorite book from 2022? Mine was Fairy Tale by Stephen King.

The last several books I've read have been boring.

I'm really enjoying the book I'm reading now: North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell.

I'm currently reading The Good Left Undone by Adriana Trigiani.

It's okay but not a page turner for me. However it's interesting that Italians living in Scotland at the time were rounded up as enemy aliens like the Japanese were here in the US. I had no idea.

I had at least a few I really enjoyed:

The Lincoln Highway
Remarkably Bright Creatures
Lessons in Chemistry
The Maid
The Reading List

Sorry I can't narrow it down more, but maybe there's an idea for you there?

Thank you bee!

This year I read: Lessons in Chemistry; The Maid and The Reading List.

I'm on waitlist for Remarkably Bright Creatures. I will check out The Lincoln Highway.

I had The Maid recommended to me by a co-worker after I said I liked Elinor Oliphant is Completely Fine - in fact that was one of my favorite novels of the year. Other novels I really enjoyed included The Lost Art of Mixing (I think maybe Bee recommended this author?) and The Enchanted April.

Hmmm, that was not me, but I just read the description of the Mixing book and I am in! Unfortunately my library doesn't have it so I will have to purchase. So much of what I want to borrow lately needs a hold and my library's limit is 10 holds, and it seems everything in that list of ten has a long wait..... I have finally been using my audible credits....

Bee, I am bad at recommending who remembers what here! The Art of Mixing is actually the second part of a 2-for - I'd recommend reading The School of Essential Ingredients first.
