I used to do Kari A's "Center Floor". I think that was intense.

I don't like Jessica's Gentle Yoga Plus Pilates. It's too awkward or hard for me.
Jackie, you are spot on! Since I’m still sore from the dang workout, I think I’m with you about no more killer workouts! I’m getting too old for this!! Haha

I didn’t like that Jessica Smith either but love her other stretch and yoga ones.

I pulled out my Classical Stretch dvds after being traumatized by volume 1. I’m going to try for the 10th time to warm up to it and Miranda. I have seasons 11, 12, 13, and 14. Wish me luck!!!!

Maybe try some of the other instructors? Miranda is a genius but not always the best instructor.

And if I'm remembering correctly, didn't Leah Sarago used to work with athletes in that capacity?

Gemini, hope your soreness is on the mend! When I first gravitated back to more barre/ballet type workouts after months of heavier weights, I could not believe how dang sore I was or how long it seemed to last. Just a different way of working, I guess. I'm sure I'll feel it when I get back to using heavier weights once my tweaky hamstring lets me.

Jackie- thank you! I don’t have my subscription anymore and I didn’t like the windowed warehouse that Sahra used in most of her DVDs. I like the outdoor backgrounds that Miranda uses. I just put a hold on her book at the library so I’m hoping that might help me to do better with her videos.

Kittybug- awww, thanks! It is definitely working different muscles. I was lifting much heavier before using 8-10 pound dumbbells for AWT type workouts. But, just using bodyweight and small ankle weights has improved my strength. Go figure. So weird. I guess everyone is different! The soreness is definitely there though!! I hope your hamstring improves soon!!

Karen Voight's Great Weighted Workout has an excellent leg section on the floor that lasts about 25 minutes. Just getting over some foot surgery....but she will be on my list when I start working out again in a couple of weeks!!

I guess I am unaware of any windowed warehouse dvd workouts by Sahra. Unless you're thinking of the Barre, Class of 2012, and Stretch and Strength in Motion series that was filmed at the science center?

The BSS series 1 and 2, and the stretch series with Gail, Amanda, and Meg, are all filmed on the beach.

That is immediately what I thought of. I'll bet that's it.

I guess I was thinking of some of the newer ETV exclusives that are in front of a window with brick. There's the white warehouse room too that has been filmed at a couple years ago.

But, yep, probably the Montreal Science Center is what the OP is referring to.

I love that floor workouts in general are being talked about. I think this form of exercise is very underrated. Especially in the age of BeachBody and others like it. I love a good floor routine.

I think controlled movement without a lot of momentum is so important as we age. I, of course, love the floor work in The FIRMS, but CS is also a "go to" for me.

ETA: My workout routine is almost non-existent right now, but when I do floor work, those are what I reach for.

I did this short floorwork routine on the Essentrics YouTube channel this past weekend; it felt pretty effective. It's with Sahra.

Essentrics - 6 MIN Thigh Thinners

There are several short workouts on the Essentrics and Classical Stretch YouTube channels. You might warm up to CS/Miranda if you start with shorter workouts. Good luck!
