After one of my doctors recommended it, I started the Mediterranean diet. I keep track of sodium and sugar - but only added sugar. The Mediterranean diet gives the thumbs up to fruits and like Donna said, there is a big difference between eating an apple and eating a cookie. One huge benefit I’ve gotten from eating this way is I have no more “old lady pains”. No stiffness or soreness at all - I am thrilled.

Gams - that is generally what I try to follow - I can be better in some areas like the fish (no one in my house likes it so I have to work it into my own plan) and nuts - which I do like, but forget to eat. Mostly, I just try to eat real food (minimally processed ) and avoid packaged food - cookies, crackers, chips, etc. Also any sugary drinks - soda, sweet teas, fancy coffee drinks, etc. I don't totally avoid these things, but I don't have them regularly.
