I bought this one for my son who has a newer laptop with no DVD/CD drive. We wanted a DVD/CD rewriter with Bluray capability so we ended up with a pricier model. That said, we've been very happy with it.

I got the older version in 2013, but here is the link to the up to date one. So far, every time I need it, I dust it off & it still works just fine.
If you scroll down to about mid page, they have a comparison chart of similar players and as always, the Amazon reviews. Good luck https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Porta...dp_ob_title_ce

My mom and I bought one of these in March last year and one in November of last year since neither one of us now has a DVD drive in our respective Mac & PC laptops.
I use mine about once a month at month probably. However, my mom uses hers almost every day, sometimes hours and hours a day loading in (ripping) books on tape from the library (she's a bit of a digital hoarder). It feels like kind of a flimsy DVD player (especially the plastic part that comes out that you put the dvd on) so I'm shocked it still works like a champ for her. http://a.co/7K5UQkZ (currently ~$28) |
