Sad news - VF'er SharonNYC has passed away

She was an intrepid yogi, doing inversions into her 60s or maybe 70s and exploring the work of Loren Fishman, yoga for osteoporosis. If I recall correctly, she and her husband had grand adventures living part time abroad, sometimes Spain, sometimes South America. And she often posted her beautiful sketches, making the best of her medical issues with art work. She when she retired she was a New York Public Library photo archivist. An extraordinary woman.
Though I mainly knew her online, meeting her at our specially arranged VF workouts, we "traveled" together for many years via social media.

RIP Sharon. I remember her from a few VF gatherings way back when and of course from her postings here. I shall raise my glass to her tonight.

I saw Sharon's main squeeze (as she used to call her husband) post about her passing on FB and since I met her here I thought it fitting to join in the remembrance of her here.

She was an inspiration to me in so many ways and I loved talking yoga with her over the years. She managed to touch a lot of lives.

Nice to see so many familiar names here - like attending a memorial and running into old friends. VF was (and looks like it still is) such a special place.

So long, SharonNYC, and thanks for all the gifts. <3
