STS 2.0: Standing ABS: Core Plus Floor

STS 2.0 Standing Abs: Core Plus Floor
(On the Abs Core Workout Disc #15

Time 16:41

Equipment: Sliding device, 10 lbs. plate or DB
(on disc #15- Abs/Core Workouts)

1. Sliding Rear Linge with Rotations
2. Sliding Rear Lunge Plate Press
3. Driving Figure 8
4. Alternating Front Lunge Side Bend
5. Toss Water Over Head
6. Circumference Circle
7. Bus Drivers
8. Oblique Twists
9. Elevated Hip Arm and Keg Drop
10. Sliding Mermaid
11. Sliding Push Pull Plank

This workout is very manageable with no dread factor. The exercises are done for 10-12 reps and some are repeated. This AB segment is one of the easier Cathe core segments. The exercises are fairly basic and easily executed. The pacing is good.

I have not done the other two workouts on the disc yet but I can see myself using the premix options.

I really liked this one. It was a nice warm up for my upper body day.

I loved the standing abs routine, but haven't gotten to the floor portion just yet. For those that like a tough or more advanced core workout, standing abs isn't it, but it's still wonderful. I guess you could up the weight, but I would think at a certain point that wouldn't be necessary for core stuff. It was so fun to use plates instead of regular dumbbells but this workout works with dumbbells, too! It's shown as a modification for this routine.

Hmm. I upped the weights and still found this core work rather boring. I think I would have preferred some more intense exercises mixed in and perhaps a bit of a faster pace.
