Thumbs up February 2024 ~ Walk On & On ~ New Check-In Buddies Are Always Welcome!

What started as a Leslie walk challenge has morphed into a wide variety of workouts and lots of support and encouragement! Join us, if you're looking for a friendly check-in, that's not limited to one type of exercise!

I started my most recent weight loss journey January 2008.
I lost 1/2 of my starting body weight and entered into maintenance May 2011.
Now the real work begins!

Later: outdoor walk. It's rainy season, and rain is predicted for the next 8 days, but not all day every day. I got a nice walk done in the early afternoon. Just started raining at teatime.

My post from yesterday never posted, apparently. When I clicked "Submit Reply" it said that the server was too busy. I'm seeing that a lot lately. Fingers crossed that we don't lose VF!

Yesterday I did a lower body strength workout, knee-friendly (although my knees are ok) from Audrey Koomar. Today no workout because early appointments. But yesterday and today got 5-6 miles of walking, so that works.

One thing I like about having a fitness watch is that it shows me how many minutes I get in the fatburning heartrate zone. This helps me to see that my focus on strength training is good, because I'm getting a sufficient amount of cardio just in my life most of the time. And it helps me readjust if I'm not.

We're waiting to hear on the appraisal! Maybe tomorrow, maybe Monday.

barre 3 30 minutes; yesterday was a washout as I got up a 6 am to go to an early service to say kaddish for my mom and was wiped the rest of the day.

The Pineapple Express (as they call this atmospheric river/storm system) makes a lot of stops -- at least 3 times today, the weather alternated b/t raining buckets and sunshine. Now it's been clear all afternoon.
