Some tips I picked up on the internet:

Barre Modification
  1. Diamond pulse on toes - move your feet into a more narrow V taking pressure off the knees or just doing the move flat footed
  2. adding the ball between your inner thighs two inches above the knees to help stabilize the knee joint and remove pressure
  3. Instead of bent-knee standing seat, do straight knee standing seat.
  4. Instead of the narrow V position (if that doesn't work for you), do “parallel thigh.” If needed, bend your knees to a lesser extent
  5. Instead of parallel, leg-together and narrow V thigh work, do “chair.” This position keeps the feet flat on the floor and the knees right over the ankles.
  6. Instead of “diamond thigh” and “second position,” both of which*are performed in a wide turn-out, do “second position” with your feet flat on the floor
  7. If all that hurts, do leg lifts, either parallel or legs turned out
  8. Instead of aggressively tucking in pelvis, go for neutral position
  9. Do extra stretches for knees.

Oh my goodness, how do I save this?? This is Gold!! I don't have bad knees but do have bad ankles, but got the worst knee pain I've ever known every time I tried to do Barre, and the bad ankle would stop me quite often anyway. Thankyou so much, just need to figure how to save ( not up to writing right now, lol)

You can hi-light the text you want to save and copy it (just the regular Control C on a Windows device) and then paste it into a Word document or into a Google Doc.
