July 2023 Add 'em up Habits & Goals Challenge ~Join us!

Come join us in setting and achieving goals and developing habits to promote your overall wellness! We are a friendly and welcoming group who love to chat when we have time, but please also feel free to join us if you want to just focus on your goals. No pressure here to address everyone; share as little or as much as you want!

We have been doing this challenge for many years now. While it is not strictly about fitness goals, we agree that our daily habits work together with our fitness goals to make us happier and more balanced, so we combine them in this challenge. Feel free to join us! You can tailor it to your schedule if you need to take a week off for vacation or only count so many days. Whatever works for you!

Premise: Choose your goals for the month. Every time you complete a goal you get a point. Multiply your number of daily goals by the number of days in the month. This is your max total points. If you choose, reward yourself for reaching a certain percentage of your max possible (I use 90% for my personal goal), multiply by your max to get your total goal points. I also give myself extra credit options.

**Take this challenge however you wish. I used to total my points all the time but have fallen away from that and now just track my goals. There really are no rules, your challenge is your own, we're just here for support and to help each other with accountability. We would love to have you join us!

Giving us a bump. I can't believe it's July!

I'm debating taking the month off from goals. Better get it decided today!

Just finished doing two virgin workouts. I did STS 2.0 Active Recovery and Tony G Yoga Elementals Space. I loved them both! I have had Tony G on my wishlist for years and Mary has the set on sale. It's on a USB stick which is a drawback, but I have been mixing in YT so much that my laptop is usually with me in the gym anyway so not a big deal. I found the first practice on YT so decided to try it. Longer more intense yoga practices is smthg I had not realized how much I've been missing! So now I'm going to revise my workout plan yet again! And trying to decide if I can spend the money on the set right now.

I can't believe it's July either. I did Essentrics yesterday and went for a nice walk today. . Vannie glad you found so much enjoyment in your yoga practice. Nice when things like that come together.

I woke up not feeling well today. I think it started with an anxiety attack but I've stayed dizzy all day. No nausea, thankfully, but haven't done much more than a short walk with Cyric this morning before going back to bed. I've dozed in the living room since then. Not sure if I'll try a walk shortly. Skipped the 4 PM one bc the real feel was 87. I definitely don't need to put myself in that when I'm dizzy. I'd like to do some yoga but nothing with twists or inversions.

As I'm on day 2 of what I think is a migraine hangover, I have decided I really need to focus on "headache hygiene" I've been reading about. The hardest part of it is a consistent sleep schedule, as I have struggled with this for probably a decade or more. It's time to get serious about it before my habits cause any more damage than they may have already done!

I hope you can figure out the sleep schedule Vannie. I really struggle with that. I think mostly, if I get woken up(usually dog related with 3 dogs of varying age), it's too much stimulus and then I can't get back to sleep. Nothing beats a good night sleep IMO. Let us know what you come up with.

I've gotten in a couple nice walks and am focusing more on CES youtube channel, Core Exercise Solutions. She has some very nice tweaks to get more out of some exercises that have been good for me.

I actually don't have problems sleeping, it's that I get up and go to bed at different times all the time. There's no consistency. I sleep like the dead so very little wakes me up!
