Crone Cronies - Time to Get Going! Today's Bad Decisions Won't Make Themselves. 10/9

The Cronies is a place for women who are mature in age or attitude. The group is highly diverse in that we have ages ranging from 30s to 60s, some are moms, some are single, some are teachers/professors, and some have jobs and work outside the home and some don’t. We do our own thing and are happy when life doesn’t get in the way too often. Some are training for a marathon, some don’t even do vids, you get the picture.

Life and exercise are what we report. A thread is started every Sunday. Some report every day, others whenever they can.

Bottom line: we are a diverse group and very supportive of each other’s goals. Oh, and we’re funny as heck. If you’d like to join us, just come on down.

Good morning!

Still using the space heater here, even though the temps aren't getting down to freezing outside. We'll be back into the 70s Tuesday, but I might turn on the furnace (and hope it works!) after the temps plunge again. I'm in all my winter sleeping layers .

I did get a lot done yesterday in the yard and got the garage window fixed - I used some spare trim that was lots thinner than what I tried to use before. I'll be hauling stuff out to the compost pile and doing more back yard cleanup, as well as a walk in the park. This afternoon, I'll be going downtown to meet with some professional comrades that are here in town for a conference. Luckily the finger is holding up pretty well.

Paula, have a safe trip to Colorado! Enjoy the colors!

Waves to all!

Hi. Checking in. It has been a tiring trip, but not bad. My MIL is not bouncing back as quickly as we all assumed she would, so we are not returning tomorrow. We'll probably not come back until Thursday or Friday. I hope everyone has a good week. I'm looking forward to getting home and being able to check in with all of you regularly!

Good morning!

Welcome back, Laura! Seems like Paula will be gone for a while, so just me, unless Vantreesta pops in!

Today I've got a gynecological appointment, followed by a walk, grocery shopping, more cutting of my garden and hauling to the compost site, and putzing. It was good to see from vet toxicological friends from the past yesterday!

Laura, sorry your MIL isn't doing as well as hoped, but back yet this week? Wow, you're good for your MIL!

Waves to all!

Quick check in front Flagstaff. We had a little rain on our drive yesterday but otherwise an uneventful drive. Beautiful country. We’ll be leaving in a little while for Ouray. We’re going to hit the hotel breakfast first.

Laura, sorry your MIL isn’t doing well. Sending you a hug.

Hello, all!

Here are the workouts from Thursday:
Thu 10/6
6 minutes (from 1 sessions toe yoga)
24 minutes (from S. Starr Happy Yoga S7E8 Sunflower Woods, TV) 1st time
5 minutes (from Sharona's Hill HOCUS POCUS DANCE WORKOUT || Fun At Home Cardio Workout, YT) 1st time
9 minutes (from J. Fairley The Source Chiropractic -Thoracic Mobility Routine Exercises and Stretches, YT) twice through
12 minutes (from Amani Hill -DAY 1| 21 Day HALLOWEEN CHALLENGE | Home workout | real-time follow along, YT) 1st time

Friday I ran out of time to workout bc I had house stuff I badly wanted down before we left that afternoon for the wknd. We went to WI for the last Ren Fest of the season on Saturday. Loved the weather! I don't think it got to 50 but I had my corset on and even though the wind sometimes kicked up and blew under my wrap to my bare shoulders it was still so much nicer than the 70+ degree days we usually have! We had a nice time and bought lots of fun stuff and talked to many vendors about their crafts. Sad to see the season end but it will also be nice to slow down some for a while. Yesterday we hiked 5.15 miles. It was a gorgeous day for it but the park was so busy it was less enjoyable for us. I'm making a note in my hiking log to not go to that park in October again! We went to that one bc we were expecting full fall colors but that particular area of WI was only around 20% changed (according to the fall colors map). We debated driving the 1 hr 20 min to my favorite hiking place where the map showed it at 70% but the hotels were more expensive there and since we had to be home at a decent time yesterday we just stuck with the original plan. Next time we will go to my forest!

Busy week with groceries and errands and a trip for my orthotics follow up (and some more Halloween shopping ). Need to wash my car inside and out as well before the cold weather is here to stay. And in the in-between times I hope to finish my crafts!

I'm really missing my family. Back when my mom was working (and I still was as well) I would always fly out for her fall break. We always loved shopping together anyway and I bought so much Halloween stuff when I was out there I usually had to ship a box back home. Now when I decorate I remember buying those things with her. Same with Christmas and my mother-in-law. I feel so blessed to have those memories. Anyway I switched my trips out there to spring bc we are always so busy in the fall plus I hate missing any of my favorite weather, but at the same time it was hard giving up that Halloween shopping with her and helping her decorate. And since my dad wasn't able to come up this summer bc of the fuel prices I haven't seen him since April.

Anita, I hope your finger is feeling better!

Laura, I'm glad you can stay longer with your MIL. I hope her recovery picks up some.

Paula, enjoy your trip to see the colors! My parents used to go up to Prescott for the fall colors and so my dad could get his Winesap apples. I don't know why those are so hard to find anymore but they are his favorites.

Good morning!

Planning on going to the Mall of America today for a AARP seminar on the fall election - I'm trying to get some info on the people running this year. I've also got a page of judges that are running unopposed - does it even bother to vote for them if they've not provided any info? Otherwise it's a beautiful day! We'll have our last toasty day of the year, getting up to 80! I'll be taking a walk outside and doing some more yard work cutting down garden plants - got two carloads off to the compost pile yesterday.

Paula, thanks for checking in - enjoy your road trip!

Vantreesta, glad you got to another Ren Fair before they closed for the season! I haven't been to the WI one - where is that? What is the forest you love down there? My car is a wreck right now also after hauling garden stuff to the compost pile - I'll be doing vacuuming after the last of the trips, but it's a mess right now! Sorry about missing your parents and the trips to those areas - where was that? Thanks, my finger is doing pretty well - i don't have it covered, but I probably should to keep the raw area cleaner.

Waves to all!

Hello from Ouray, Co. we had a lovely day driving some backroads. The views of the snow topped mountains and the bright yellow Aspens were spectacular. Heading to Durango tomorrow to do some exploring there.

Everyone have a good day.

Good morning!

Planning on taking 4 huge bags of garden cuttings to the compost pile, taking a walk if it's not pouring outside, and getting more bags filled. If the weather holds, I should be done with cuttings in about a week. This garden is huge!

I did go to the seminar by AARP, but it was pretty useless - just basic voting info, not specifics on candidates beyond the website that I already looked at. Sigh... I did walk in the mall though so got my steps in - it was a bit weird to be at the mall before the stores opened. No crowds .

Paula, sounds like you're having a lovely driving vacation in the mountains .

Waves to all!

Good morning!

Guess I get to talk to myself today ! Spent my morning playing computer games with a friend and learning a new game called Wingspan - still very much at a beginning stage there - very overwhelmed with all the steps . I'll go for a walk (yoga got cancelled today). The rains are gone so probably will spend my afternoon cleaning up my yard and clipping the plants back for delivery to the compost site tomorrow. Otherwise putzing around. I did give in and turn on my furnace this morning .

Waves to all!
