I was really skeptical when I first bought them, thinking they would be a waste of money, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Mine are just regular microfiber, and I use them after cleanser. But I've heard the Makeup Eraser at Ulta is really good. I'd really like to try it!

These are the makeup remover things I wound up getting:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I liked that I could get them in gray, that they were small, and that they come with their own mesh bag for washing! They'll arrive tomorrow, so I'll let everyone know.

I had another question - what does everyone think of Formula 10.0.6 products? I have tried a few that I have liked.

Those pads look nice. I like the pocket for an easier grip. Mine are different. They take off part of my eye makeup when wet, but not all.

Those sound like milia -- hard, white bumps that come from a waxy buildup on the skin which isn't sloughed off quickly enough as you get older. There's a procedure called thermolysis that can liquify them if you want to get rid of them quickly (not expensive -- I occasionally have this done at my aesthetician for $50 for 15 min, which is plenty of time to cover all the areas I get them) or maybe just a good routine of exfoliation.

Hazel, you may be right. I'm going to try to stick to a more specific routine and see if that helps - and maybe post-pandemic I'll treat myself to a facial, too.

Another solution that helps reduce milia, make it less noticeable, and acts as a gentle exfoliant is to find an exfoliating mask you like and do it about once a week. I really like this one from Yensa: https://yensa.com/collections/skinca...polishing-mask

I swear my skin is its softest, my milia is less apparent, all from using this once a week. Turmeric is great against inflammation, too, and the mask smells fantastic.

I have meant to post here about adult acne/oily skin/clogged pores, etc.

I am also 53...and have some "teen-age" skin issues - I don't break out badly, but I do have oily skin, enlarged/clogged pores, etc.

Some of the products that have worked well for me are:

Cerave Acne Foaming Cleanser: https://www.cerave.com/skincare/clea...oxide-cleanser

This does have benzoyl peroxide - so it can be a bit drying, and it does bleach your towels, unfortunately. It is better for me to use it in the summer and I can't use it daily b/c it will dry my skin out even though it is pretty gentle.

Cerave Resurfacing Retinol Serum:

https://www.cerave.com/skincare/seru...-retinol-serum

I go between this one and the Differin Gel. This is my favorite retinol product as I feel it actually does work!

Differin Gel

https://differin.com/shop/differin-gel

This is great b/c it is a true retinoid w/out a trip to the dermatologist for a prescription!

Cetaphil Oil Free Hydrating Lotion (I think they changed the name on this one recently!)

https://www.cetaphil.com/us/product/...yaluronic-acid

This is a very light moisturizer that I use all over my face. It is not enough for my dry patches in the winter, but it is great on my T- Zone and doesn't cause my pores to look blocked/clogged at all.

For my dry patches I like this Cetaphil product:

Cetaphil Night Moisturizer for Redness Prone Skin

https://www.cetaphil.com/us/product/...ess-prone-skin

For sunscreen, that is a tough one I have not found one that I totally love but some that I like are:

Cetaphil Redness Relief Tinted Sunscreen SPF 20: https://www.cetaphil.com/us/product/...ess-prone-skin

Eucerin - SPF 30:

https://www.eucerinus.com/products/f...sturizing-face

Cerave Ultra Light Moisturizing SPF 30

https://www.cerave.com/skincare/mois...-lotion-spf-30

Olay Complete Sensitive SPF 30

https://www.olay.com/en-us/skin-care...sensitive-skin

This one, from Cetaphil (Differin offers the same product!) is a good one, but it stung the dickens out of my eyes...but if you can handle it it is a very good sunscreen for oily skin:

https://www.cetaphil.com/us/product/...turizer-spf-30

For cleansers, I think my favorite is Vanicream facial cleanser.

https://www.vanicream.com/product/va...acial-cleanser

I used to be a big fan of Cerave but I found that my skin seems to do better w/ the products I mention here. Cerave tended to give my pores more of a clogged appearance for some reason...

Honorable mentions for me are:

Zapzyt Cleanser (2% BHA) https://zapzyt.com/our-products/acne-wash-cleanser/

I wills sometimes use this cleanser if my skin is misbehaving - more of a summer product than a winter product - if you don't like benzoyl peroxide, this may be a good one to try.

Australian Gold Tinted Sunscreen: https://www.australiangold.com/shop/...ed-face-lotion

The Australian Gold is a bit drying, so it is better in the summer - it also has an odd smell to me....but I like the shade and coverage.

Oh - a product I have, but haven't tried yet: Cetaphil Dermacontrol purifying clay mask:

https://www.cetaphil.com/us/product/...ying-clay-mask

Good luck finding what works for you!

Donna, thanks for sharing your routine! Not only are we similar in age (I'll be 53 in April), but also our skin sounds quite similar.

I have been trying to follow the routine we discussed above. I have had a few incidents of more cyst-like pimples, which is unusual for me; maybe there is purging going on?

I have been jumping around with different cleansers (got some as gifts), but I'm planning to return to my old standard of Basis; it's inexpensive, and I did more research to confirm that it is a gentle product:

Beth - so funny, I used to use that cleanser and I can't find it in stores so I thought it was discontinued!! I am drugstore person, I hate to spend a lot of $$ on skincare!

I am getting cystic like breakouts as well - I am thinking it is from mask wearing b/c I am getting them around my jaw - and it seems to come on after I have worn a mask for a long time...

This product was helpful:

https://www.laroche-posay.us/acne-an...140500759.html

It does have benzoyl peroxide which I don't love using b/c inevitably I bleach something with it...

Donna, I am a drugstore girl too! (I only have more expensive products when I get them as gifts.) I'm glad that the Basis cleanser is readily available in my grocery store (Wegmans). I had wondered if wearing a mask could be a factor in the blemishes too. I know that benzoyl peroxide can be very effective, but I'm hesitant to use it b/c of the staining issue.
