I use Vital Proteins in chocolate from costco now. I mix it in the muscle pharm chocolate protein powder. I've tried Orgain and VP unflavored. I was just mixing those with water and could def taste/smell a weird flavor. I don't notice the chocolate one in my shake though.

Be careful using the collagen as a protein source. Most doctors that I have listened to say that it doesn’t count towards protein intake because it doesn’t contain enough of the essential amino acids that your body needs. It’s good for your ligaments and tendons but not for muscle growth.

That was my understanding, too. Thanks for the link.

That is interesting about collagen.

I get enough protein via meat in the rest of my diet not to worry too much about that though. I don't think I am lacking in essential amino acids! My collagen powder does have all the essentials except tryptophan but compared to a 3 ounce portion of steak, the essentials are about ⅓ of the amount (roughly) than are in the steak (according to cronometer).
