Recently read:

The Lies I Tell by Julie Clark - Found it to be a bit boring and skipped quite a few chapters to get to the end

Layla by Colleen Hoover - An interesting supernatural ghost story

The IT Girl by Ruth Ware - Engrossing mystery

I finished Miss Austen by Gill Hornby and I'm waiting for her next book Godmersham Park. My library doesn't have it on order yet, but I have Joan by Katherine Chen on hold.

I recently finished Broken, by Jenny Lawson. That was a strange book - some parts were boring, some parts were funny, and others were touching and insightful.

Now I'm reading The Easter Parade by Richard Yates. This is the third book I've read by him this year and I've liked all of them.

I just finished "A Flicker in the Dark" -- not sure if the recommendation came from here or not. It was suspenseful, perhaps a little predictable, and perhaps a little much in the end.

I'm reading War of the Roses: Margaret Anjou, the second in this series by Conn Iggulden. I think it's well written and that it's a good book. I'm also reading The Paris Hours by Alex George, his third book and my least favorite, even if it is still pretty good. It's one of those books about a number of people and I'm waiting for him to tie things together and show how they are related.

Did you see The Hollow Crown about the War of the Roses, when it was on PBS? My husband wanted them to send "Gentle Margaret" back to France.

I just finished The Woman in Black by Susan Hill, a creepy little ghost story that was definitely chilling. One of the prompts for a reading challenge I'm doing is to read a book and then watch the adaptation so I'm going to watch the movie with Daniel Radcliffe. Weirdly, I had actually seen the play as a student in London many years ago but remembered nothing of the plot

No, I hadn't heard of that show. I snorted at the description "Gentle Margaret". She's certainly not that in this book.

Just finished The Second Life of Mirielle West by Amanda Skenandore. It was a very interesting read, set in the Carville leper colony in Louisiana in the 1920s.
