Yup! Some used their real first and last names. As the forum grew, we attracted the inevitable trolls, spammers, shills and nutjobs. Some felt uncomfortable with their real names online.

I didn't mention how I first found VF. I was looking for reviews online for Tae Bo. I stumbled across VF and was intrigued. Someone posted about how they didn't like how Billy Blanks did the high-speed neck rolls right away during the warm-up. I didn't either!

I lurked for a loooong time before I started posting. The forum was maybe a year old but everyone seemed so close and knowledgable about fitness. I was intimidated to join in. Plus I'd never participated on a forum. But, I found a lot of support and information on VF and I'm thankful for it.

I lurked for YEARS before I joined. Not sure why I waited---spotty internet, never joined a forum before, who knows? Yeah, I remember when people used their real names and most changed them somewhere along the line.

I joined August 2002. (Wow, 20 years here soon!) I was looking for information on The Firm after seeing their infomercial. I read so much here - the forum, the video reviews, the success stories, etc.

I don't really remember when I first posted, probably several weeks after joining. People were so nice and welcoming. I joined a beginner check in that didn't last too long. Then, I hesitantly asked if I could join the Cardio Cross Trainers and they sucked me in with their enthusiastic response. The rest is history!

I joined in the late 90s. At the time I mostly did the Firm and Kari Anderson (still a wonderful instructor). I was looking for reviews of some Firm videos and I actively participated in the exchange. Somewhere along the way I started to post, not sure when. I have been absent for long periods of time, but I always find my way back.

LOL, my daughter was born then. I actually figured out that I was pregnant from someone suggesting it on VF Friday night chat when I said that I was feeling sick. I didn't even consider that I could be pregnant.

I don't think I lurked - just jumped in after I figured out the forum. I've been here since 1999? Somewhere around then. It's been fun going through life with some of the people who have been here a long time.
