Good morning! I cancelled my usual Saturday AM routine and am enjoying a pot of chocolate chai in my pajamas. DS is coming by this afternoon for our Mother's Day/birthday visit. Yesterday featured:

~ Lee Holden 30 Day Challenge - Day 13
~ Lunch walk
~ Evening walk to my osprey nest
~ 8,384 steps

I'm getting concerned about my nest. Adults have been in the vicinity but I haven't seen one situated on the nest in a couple weeks now. By this time eggs should be laid and the parents actively taking turns incubating. It is possible that Mom is tucked tightly over them and flattened out on the nest so I can't see her. Today's local news headline will be "Old Lady Photographing Nest Kicked Off Ballfield Mid-Game." What do I know about baseball? How would I know I'm in the outfield in danger of getting doinked by a flyball? Roll Eyes!

Pam, I thought about Alice's Zoom class. I might sign up to do at a later time. Happy to be back on her email list, anyway.

Beth, I never even notice the quick reply button. It seems like too much trouble.

I have to get off my rump - waves to all! Make it a great day everyone!

Pam, cute new avatar! Yeah, so far so good with the new boss.

Pat, LOL - I use Quick Reply because Post Reply feels like too much trouble.

Paine, I haven't done that HASFit standing abs in awhile. I was doing several other standing abs routines regularly but haven't in awhile. This past week I've been using this chair abs routine:

I also discovered Amy Bento Ross on YouTube and have been trying her workouts. Today I did this kickboxing one (standing only):

Hope everyone has been having a good weekend!

Hi!

No workout Friday as it is my usual rest day, and no workout Thursday (for no good reason!).

Today's Workout: I started with Jessica Smith's latest Walk & Talk 1-miler, followed by Sandra's Knee Rehab exercise set, then the lower body work from Margaret Richard's Stronger For Life.

Re my massage gun --

Beth: I got this model:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

One of the least expensive versions, but it does the job!

Pat58: I did try it on my shoulders but was underwhelmed. The thing came with 10 different heads, so I should probably try out different ones.

Re retirement and Medicare I'm learning a lot. Our HR sent me the numbers, and long story short each month it will cost me $170 (Medicare Part B), plus $248 (for Kaiser Senior Advantage and Delta Dental). The $248 reflects a contribution by the library. That's $400-something out of pocket. Ouch! I could try to skimp somewhere, but as HR reminds me, "You get what you pay for." Note to self -- stay healthy and budget like crazy!

Good morning everyone!

Yesterday's workouts (all short):
- Ellen Barrett's new class, Align & Shine.
- HealthBarre Somatics Abdominal Flow
- Body Groove (15 min)
- Long walk on our local common, as it was a gorgeous day. The cows are back again for the summer. I love the Scottish Highland cows with their curved horns and shaggy hair. They look like their bangs need cutting.

This morning was:
- Jessica Smith's 1 mile walk and talk. Thanks Sandra.
- Kassandra's 15 minute Air Element Morning Flow. Thanks to Carolyn.
- HealthBarre Legging it on Tambourine Mountain (15 min)

Pam - I like your new avatar. I wasn't planning on doing Alice's class, as it's 6 pm for me and I prefer to do my energetic stuff in the morning. I may buy it later on, so I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Pat - Hope Momma Osprey was just out of sight and you get to see them nesting the next time you visit. Chocolate Chai sounds good. I must buy some to try.

Sandra - The Medicare supplemental insurance plans sound completely baffling to me. I always thought Medicare covered all your needs when you retired, but apparently not.

Waves to all! Hope it's a good day.

Good morning! It suddenly got hot and humid, but my son and I had a nice visit, including a visit to historic Fort Trumbull which has beautiful views of the Thames River and LI Sound. We saw several osprey nests and views of American oyster catcher and cormorant nests on a small island in the sound.

~ Lee Holden 30 Day Challenge - Day 14
~ My own back PT and stretch
~ Birding walk
~ 9,059 steps

Hello to all!

Beth, that chair abs routine looks good but unfortunately I can't do sitting workouts.

Pam, I like your new avatar.

Margo, it must be fun to see the Scottish Highland cows.

Pat, glad you enjoyed your day yesterday.

Paine, she has a number of other abs routines on her channel. I actually have the opposite problem - I can do abs standing or on the floor, but it feels like more of a strain to my back that way.

Margot, I noticed highland cattle on my drive to work a few years ago. I didn't know what they were, and I told my co-workers that there was something that looked like Buffalo out there - they corrected me.

Sandra, wow, that sounds so complicated! I hope you are able to make it work for you.

I always forget that I have workouts saved on Vimeo, too. Today I did this HDM routine:

We are having a staff lunch tomorrow and people are bringing in desserts. Since we have several GF eaters on staff, I decided to try these Sweet Potato Brownies:
