Walking Downhill and Osteoporosis

It's a very limited study, and there's no word on whether or not this transfers to women without diabetes:

Walking downhill after meals boosts bone health in postmenopausal women with diabetes

Interesting. I'll take any nuggets of info.

I walk on lunch breaks from time to time. Unfortunately it seems like all uphill. Up has to go down but I swear there are only uphills here. I'm sure incline walking is beneficial though.

ETA: not meaning to hijack the downhill walking part, but I found this article on additional tips to boost walking:

Teresa Tapp talked about walking downhill in one of her videos. It was just a short statement, not a class or anything, but she talked about how good walking downhill is because it naturally puts your body into better alignment. (And better alignment means better health benefits.) When you're going downhill, you don't slouch, push your pelvis forward or back, etc.

I think it's Tempo Arms where she mentions this.
