My goal is to move more during the day. My desk job makes it difficult to get 10,000 daily steps. I walk for the stress release and getting away from my desk. It amazes me how much I don't move at work. I had a standing desk and still didn't get in much more movement.
We now have a copier machine in our office space versus the machine down the hall, initially the mail room had the fax machine (dinosaur now), so just general walking around in the building is minimal. I think technology like email also impacts walking.
I can get more steps on a Saturday morning doing general cleaning than 1/2 day at work.
