Got in a nice swim at the gym pool. Thank goodness it was cooler. It was crowded but everyone was polite and shared lanes.

I got an appt for the second opinion on my feet but it's not till Aug 9. That was the first available appt. I am impatient for it already bc I feel in limbo on what I should or shouldn't be doing. I'm also scheduled for a gait analysis by a pedorthist. (I need to look up what that means! )

Glad you are getting a second opinion Vannie and seeing a gait specialist. Things in health care take forever it seems.

Yesterday after my PT appt I made a quadruple batch of my pumpkin pancakes while I danced around to my new hip hop running playlist for about 3 hours. I had a blast! My Fitbit recorded my running laps at PT as an 11 minute run so I called that and the dancing my workout. Today was laundry, dishes and pulling weeds. Tonight I had grief group. I haven't done a formal workout yet today but I'm fixing to do my PT exercises. Tmrw I must run before it gets to 90!

Karen, I'm actually looking forward to the gait analysis. Until my PT watched me run I have never had anyone give me running tips. No gait analysis, no coaching or anything. I didn't start running till after my hip/ham injuries. After races my mom would shake her head and say I still can't believe you run now! All through school when we had to run the mile I walked almost all of it. I liked the 50 yd dash but had zero interest in running otherwise or any sports. In junior high my teacher thought I had asthma bc I was so out of breath on the mile. I was like no, I'm just not in shape bc all I do is read. I started working out in HS, I think sophomore year, when they did smthg different with gym class. They split the class and you could either take basketball and field hockey or aerobics and weightlifting. No way I wanted team sports and I got hooked on aerobics and weights. My first workout was Cher and I still have it and do it!

Are you getting excited for your tri? Can't believe it's almost here already! I could be persuaded to do a tri only if it was paddling (canoe/kayak) instead of swimming. They actually do have those but I haven't found anyone who wants to do it with me. I do regular races solo all the time but smthg like that, especially since I haven't done one, I'd want a friend to do it with.

Hi guys. I was thinking the Tri was on July 4th itself but it is on Saturday July 2nd. Oh well. I’ m pretty ready I guess and it will be over and done at the start of the 3 day weekend instead of the end.

Vannie I cannot wait to hear about your gait analysis findings. I have had mini gait analyses done by the folks working at running stores but they are certainly not pros. Interesting that you were more interested in the 50 yard dash than the mile. Might you be a sprinter? Wow you danced for 3 hours. Sounds like a joyful thing to do! Good for you. Which Cher workout was that?

Yesterday I rested and tonight hit the bike for half an hour and ran 20 min on the Treadmill. Tomorrow I be will ride my bike a bit just to get more practice. Slowly.

Waves to Jbliff, Cher, and Gibbee.

Hi all. My workout yesterday was 47 minutes of total body strength training followed by 20 minutes of yoga. Tuesday's workout was 30 minutes of pilates + a new Body Combat I found on Youtube which was done by the official Les Mills instructors with impeccable form.

Karjoy - Good luck on the race on July 2. That's when the Tour de France starts too. I will be watching that all month!

Vannie - It would be interesting to find out the results of the gait analysis. Was that something your doctor or PT recommended? Is the Cher workout the one with Keli Roberts? I used to have it on VHS. I mainly remember the crazy outfits!

Hi to Cher and Gibbee. Have a great day.

Karen, well, I'll never know if I was born to be a sprinter. My chiropractor advised me not to do any sprinting due to the increased risk of a repeat hamstring tendon tear. I took that as permission to be a slow runner. I don't remember which Cher workout I got first but I have and love them both. I do Hot Dance the most though. It's kind of become my New Year's Day standard. My dancing was obviously interspersed with ladeling pancake batter and flipping them.

JBliff, my PT strongly suggested I have the gait analysis and told me where to go. I assume most shoe stores do the gait analysis like Karen described. I think this place works with a lot of PT patients. Keli does lead some of the Cher workouts. Dorian Sanchez leads Hot Dance and I do think Keli does the rest. Yes, Cher's outfits, oh my! Cannot imagine working out in those! Hot Dance and Denise Austin's line dance workouts, anytime I hear the songs in them I want to do the workouts.

Cheryl, I'm sorry Joseph is still having problems with the UC. I know it's hard to be patient when finding the right treatment. My mom was on prednisone for hers when I was a kid. She gained a ton of weight and struggled with her weight the rest of her life. I hope that doesn't happen to Joseph. She was able to get off them and never needed meds again for it. I think she had mild flare ups if she got really stressed out but they didn't last long.

Gibbee, I'm so glad to hear you're still working out and seeing your nice boyfriend. You have been through so much the last few years. No, things will never be like they were before, but hopefully you have developed a new routine that works for you.
