Vantreesta: It was pretty cold—according to my Apple Watch summary, it was 28 when the hike started, but I think it was above freezing shortly after. I was worried about frostbite, but we kept moving so it was just pretty unpleasant but not miserable.

Pratima: I’ve never seen that lateral trainer before. I think the last fitness expo I went to was 2013, and that video says 2014, so that’s probably why. Looks interesting!

Me: I’ve kept up my cycling plan for the week so far. I re-vamped my meal planning to a way that should be do-able. I’ve been so far off track with my eating—I was so good until the kids got COVID, and everything went to hell after that. But that was almost 2 months ago now, so no more excuses.

My cycling plan this week is a 20-min and a 30-min ride with one of my fav instructors each day, different music each ride all week to keep the variety up.

Monday-Sam: 80s rock, 70s
Tuesday-Bradley: metal, pop punk
Wednesday-Leanne: new wave, country
Thursday-Ben: classic rock, 2010s
Friday-Denis: 90s, 60s

Next week I plan to keep a similar cycling cycle, but just one 20- or 30-minute ride though, and then add in strength too. I’m planning one week at a time for now. While longer-term plans were working, I think shorter-term is the way to go to get me back into the groove.

Alison, that would definitely make for a miserable hike! Glad you stayed warm enough. I hear you on being way off track with eating. I'm working on that too.

Weather is crazy here. 47 tmrw and back down to 4 on Wednesday. We're supposed to get snow Monday and Tuesday. Right now we have a lot of bare places and where there's snow it's actually compacted into ice and there's still patches of ice on sidewalks.

Yesterday I did prehab stuff, a short Leslie walk, VA Lake Tahoe Hike with vest, Jill Miller YTU lower back massage and Slim & Limber. I haven't done anything today fitness wise.

Today I did Rockin' Body Booty Time and one of the lunar segments from Shiva Rea More Daily Energy. And then I baked blond brownies.

We ended up getting about 4" of snow today. I shoveled about 80 minutes and didn't finish. Hubby can snowblow the rest of I'll take care of it tmrw. I did some stretching afterward.

Vantreesta: It’s 75 degrees and sunny here! But it’s going to change quickly, and we’re expecting cold rain and possibly a wintery mix by the end of tomorrow. Megan has HS soccer tryouts this week, and I think she’s getting a day of each season for them.

I finally went to the doctor for my swollen hand, and I sprained the ligaments that connect my thumb to my hand. At least that’s what she thinks without doing an ultrasound. She gave me Rx strength Naproxen for the swelling and wants me to ice it 3x a day and do some hand PT. If that doesn’t fix it, I’ll need to go to a hand specialist.

My eating is good some days, not good others. I know it can be as simple as follow my plan, but I’m struggling. I’m doing all I can to stay on track, but life is throwing so much at us these days. The cat has IBS (or a cat version of something like it), so that’s fun. At least her blood and urine tests came back ok.

This week’s Peloton plan is a rock ride each morning. Then alternating days of strength, yoga, or a walk at lunchtime. Or today, a trip to the doctor.

Mon: Sam 90s rock
Tues: Bradley 80s rock
Wed: Leanne 80s rock—she did a really fun one 2/7, had me so pumped this morning!
Thurs: Ben 90s rock
Fri: Denis classic rock

This has been a weird week. My friend was out of town and her husband works overnights so I watched their kids from like 6 PM till morning Monday night and again Tuesday night. I came home in btwn even though it's about 40 miles and the weather wasn't great Tuesday, but I wanted to be at home with Cyric so for me it was worth it. And then I did the shoveling Tuesday anyway so it was good to get that done. I shoveled about 10 minutes last night to clear the snowplow wall where hubby would pull in and today I need to go finish that and the sidewalks. We have possibly another 1-3" coming today. Unfortunately, my thumb that I landed on when I fell Sunday night gets very aggravated by shoveling so I iced it last night. Hopefully I'll have a few days without shoveling after I do it today so my thumb can rest.

Alison, I can't even imagine 75! I think it's up to 7 here right now. Sorry to hear about the sprained ligaments. Hopefully it will heal without needing the specialist.

I shoveled 83 minutes yesterday and 78 today. And I kept telling myself I would stretch afterward but yesterday I was too tired and today I found myself petting Cyric and watching Supernatural instead. My shoulders and upper back are so achy! I will do some nice stretching tmrw. I can't wait to get back to my workouts next week.

Yesterday I did Wake Up & Walk week 3 from Leslie's YouTube channel and a hip and glute workout from Upright Health. Today was week 4 of Leslie and Caroline Jordan glute activation workout. I kind of ran out of time both days.
