Question Which Cathe step DVD?

Hi-

I'm interested in (finally ) getting one of Cathe's step DVDs. The question is, which one? They're packaged as follows:

Classics Vol 1 = Step Jam, Step Heat and Step Max

Cardio Hits = Power Max, Step Fit, and Step Works

I'm not new to step but have never seen a Cathe tape all the way through so don't know which would be better to start with. Your advice (as always) would be most appreciated.

Thanks.

Really, you can't go wrong with either one. Have you read the reviews? That always helps me decide. I really love Step Fit and PowerMax.

I agree, you can't go wrong with either one, but I would say the learning curve for the workouts on Cardio Hits is probably steeper.
Step Max was my first Cathe workout (bought it on VHS-- pre dvd), and while it looked dated even at that time-- I think the workout was 3 or 4 years then, I feel like it was a good one to start with. It is more basic than her other titles. Step Heat is a more basic one too.
At the time, the only step workouts I had were by Kathy Smith, Gin Miller, and Karen Voight so Step Max was quite a move up in complexity.

I really do love all the workouts in both of these compilation dvds-- bad sets, attire and all.

I would definitely go with the Classics dvd. You might also consider Low Impact Step.

Step Heat was my first step workout, so it has a speical place in my heart!!! I kept rewinding and rewinding that tape until I just about wore it out! LOL!

Another dvd that you might consider since you are not new to step is IMax 2 and Cardio & Weights. I think they are two of Cathe's absolute best! Both are easy to learn and both pack a real punch, plus you get the added bonus of some weight work in Cardio & Weights (or can just do the step portions).

I started my Cathe collection with the Classics and then progressed to Cardio Hits per suggestions here. I'm glad I started with the Classics. I used to do step at the gym about 10 years ago so I wasn't new to step just to Cathe. Those 2 DVDs got me familiar w/ Cathe and now I can pick up most of her workouts pretty easily.

My favorite step workouts from her are

Rhythmic step
Step, Jump & Pump

But my favorite new step workout is Tracey Staehle's high intensity step workout.

Same with me! I say get The Classics first, then Cardio Hits. Cathe's cueing is awesome and she repeats everything enough that you'll get it.

My favorite of the above? Power Max, baby! Fun, tough choreography and some of the best music ever in a Cathe workout.
