awww.

DH and I were Cloris Leachman fans. every morning, when i make his oatmeal, i say "Oatmeal?" with the German accent that she uses in Young Frankenstein when she asked Gene Wilder if he wanted "Ovaltine."

remember High Anxiety? that was good too.

My first memory of Cloris Leachman was from The Facts of Life. As a kid, I also remember watching The North Avenue Irregulars.

Same here! She was great as Beverly Ann. I also enjoyed her on "Raising Hope."

I've never seen Young Frankenstein, but now I'm going to make a point to watch it!

It is hysterical! That was one of my husband's favorite movies. Peter Boyle and Gene Wilder are excellent.

Oh, YF is just delightful. I've been watching it with some regularity since I was a kid, enough to where I have a lot of it memorized. Cloris is one of the best parts of it. She's almost unrecognizable and has that thick German accent. A totally classic character.

Cloris Leachman was such a chameleon - she could be glam, matronly, funny, serious, etc.

i just learned, by reading wikipedia, that she was a Miss America finalist.

Watching it is on my agenda this weekend!

I have NO clue how this one ever escaped me. My dad was a huge Mel Brooks fan and I grew up watching Airplane, History of the World, Blazing Saddles and (my personal fave) Spaceballs!

Looking forward to adding this one to the list.
