AnMrsDe Wesley mom and dad are doing great!! I have not babysat yet, my daughter is breast feeding and they are just starting to introduce a bottle to him. I know they are looking forward to getting out for a dinner soon so that’ll be my chance That Penny workout sounds good. I haven’t done a Penny for a while, I just seem to feel better doing light weights right now. I’m not saying I won’t ever go back to those workouts but lighter workouts have definitely been more beneficial for my weight. It’s a struggle to remember that more isn’t always more.

ASAS I’m loving all your Kathy Smith retro workouts this month! I actually don’t mind workouts from that early 00s time period, but the older ones have those crazy outfits and I’m distracted

Helen I hope you’re figuring it out with your workload. It’s really challenging trying to fit it all in and sometimes it just adds to your stress level.

Chrys I’m so sorry to hear that you’re getting Covid bounce back symptoms. Just take of yourself!! I’m not eligible for the third shot but I would love to get that booster now.

TB2 I watched Dune this weekend, in two parts since it was so long. Definitely a beautiful film but I’m sure if I wasn’t already familiar with the book I would be a bit lost. I didn’t realize that this was going to be a trilogy until halfway through. I know the David Lynch 80s version is imperfect but I love the creepiness that he brought to it. This version feels a little more mainstream.

Elsie Are you subscribed to Cathe on demand? I always loved the idea of it but I felt I spent more time making workouts than doing them!!

Bex and Cher I hope you both having a good month!!!

Waves to everyone!!!

Jane

Jane, bet you can't wait to babysit Wesley! Great to hear everyone is doing well. Hope mom & dad can get some sleep! Loved your last sentence--"it's a struggle to remember that more isn't always more." So true! I loved my high reps/lower weights rotation a few months ago and better yet, it yielded some nice positivity in my body. It's always good to change things up! Never in a million years did I think I would want to do BARRE stuff again!!!

Chrys, Thanks for the b-day wishes! Hoping you feel back to your normal self soon. Yay on the new bathroom!!! And to be done by T-giving - great!! Not sure my household would be that precise about the finishing date...my handyman only works when he has the time...sigh.

Happy Monday, all! At least it's not raining! It was raining continuously yesterday!! My rain gauge said close to 4"!!

Jane - I watched Dune last night. Beautiful scenery and my thoughts were, ‘is it going to end like this? What am I missing?”. I wasn’t aware that it was going to be a trilogy until DD told me this morning, lol. Also, I thought Zendaya had a bigger role based on the red carpet pics. I’ve tried to watch the original Dune movie a few times but I’ve always fallen asleep so have never seen more than the first 10 - 15 mins. I went to the movie theatre to see the new Bond movie last Saturday!

Chrys - I hope you feel better soon. Great progress on your home projects!

Helen, Elsie, firmwannabe - hope all is well!

Waves to everyone!

Hey everyone & Happy hump Day.
Congrats to you all for staying on track for October! I've let myself get very behind now. I was having a lot of trouble sleeping (again) anyway, then there was a hammering project under me for four mornings (I generally work shiftwork) and then a close family member found out she had cancer and we lost her only three days after.
I'm trying to get right back on track now without dwelling on 'losing out' a bit and well, losing some motivation, which is difficult. That is where this check-in comes in!!! Yay.
T2B, how difficult is LGI8? Is anyone else here taking part? AMDe, you really made me laugh with that cleavage comment. Haahahaa. Chrys, sorry to hear you're still have issues post-Covid. Congrats on the new tv though. DH has been wanting a new one these past 7 years, but I'm really satisfied with what we have. I don't even like huge Tvs. Lol. Jane, You are so right about more not always providing "more". I get burned out so much more easily since 37+ (I'm 42), so while I mentally love the challenge, I sometimes step it back on purpose. I don't need extra sleeping/cortisol issues. And I know many women do not get that from " tougher" regimens, but I do more often than I don't. Yes, I am doing On Demand for 6 months. I mostly wanted to see if the Cathe series' I haven't purchased during the last while might be worth sampling, and I also do not have very many of her older workouts. Turns out that On Demand doesn't have quite a few of the premixes for them anyway (which I didn't know). And Yes, I've definitely done the spend more time making the workout than DOING the workout, LOL.

Hope you have all been feeling alright! Hope I didn't miss anything ...

Elsie - I’m so sorry for your loss! Shocking and very sad for all. As far as LGI8, you can make it as easy or as hard as you want. Lots of built in flexibility days and low intensity cardio days. Week 4 has been the easiest so far because of the workouts I chose to do. I don’t do intensity all the time even if it appears that way.

AMD - DD and I were trying to miss the crowds for a new release so we went to see Bond at a great time. Let me know what you think after you see it!

I’ll admit that I’m not excited about Cathe’s new potential offerings just yet. For once, I’d like her to film the workouts, edit, produce, receive the workouts and then let us know they’re available for purchase. I’ll buy either way but I’m kind of done with the teasers. Lol. I’m excited for the virtual road trippers though!

Oh, and thanks for starting a new thread!

Elsie, I'm so sorry for your loss. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.

Chrys, it must be frustrating to still be dealing with fatigue. I hope you start feeling better. Even little signs of improvement would be positive.

I had to change my rotation this month because of an injury. I don't what started it but I started having sharp pains in my left hip when moving in and out of a prone position. I could do ab exercises but I could not do corpse pose. Sleeping was very difficult. I tried to do some dvds for back and hip pain but they did not help. I bought a hip compression band which helped slightly. I then bought another which had a piece that went around one of your thighs. It actually helps me sleep. I'm so happy! My hip still sometimes has slight dull pains when moving at night but the extreme sharp pain that made me whimper has gone away for now. I can still do low impact cardio but I try to avoid any jarring moves on my hip. I'm also wearing the band when I work out. I'm focusing on classical stretch with a modified 30 minute workout.

Elsie, I am so sorry for your loss, my condolences for you and your family (((hugs))). Keeping you all on my prayers.

Elsie I’m so sorry for the loss of your family member. My thoughts are with your family I think Cathe on demand is a great idea if you want to try out the workouts that you don’t have and Cathe sure has a lot of workouts on there.

Tammie I hope your hip starts feeling better! That sounds awful that you’re having trouble sleeping with it.

AnMrsDe Thanks for starting us off for November!!

Jane, ASAS, Tammie, T2B, AMDe, gratitude for the condolences. It means a lot. ((Hugs)) back & to everybody!
Tammie, ouch .. Sorry for your hip injury/pain. It sounds a bit like bursitis to me. Sounds like you have figured out a way to manage, which is great. Classical Stretch seems quite popular here on our check-in and with VF'ers in general. Hoping you continue to heal well.
T2B, have a blast at the virtual roundtrip!

Thank you for starting the Nov thread AMDe.
Oh, I always get quite stressed out in November. Exercise will be more important than ever!!
