Hi!

Today's Workout: I needed a break from lower body work with Margaret, so I started with the Lower Body section from Fitness Fix Beginners. Although I was mildly challenged on a couple of moves, overall the routine was too easy. Wanting to do a bit more, I pulled out Squeeze Stronger. It was all pretty much undoable for my knees -- except for the pretzel/clam floor sequence which I loved! Will have to try subbing this for Margaret's glute squeezes. I finished with my own stretches.

Yesterday I walked to/from my library (two miles each way). I enjoyed a nice chat with my old co-workers, and was pleased to see I didn't feel any pull to actually go back to work there!

Pat58: The service I went to was a Celebration Of Life for the husband of my friend's friend who died last May. Honestly, I've only met her friend once or twice, and the husband once. But she is a kind lady and I wanted to support my friend who felt she needed to go despite it being a room full of strangers.

Yogapam: Welcome home! Re my new gym, last week a security guard said that all the equipment was in there and the trades were just doing finishing touches. Per the website classes are currently scheduled starting 10/12! So I hope opening is imminent.

Waving to all!

Sandra, that was sweet of you to support your friend even though you didn't know the deceased very well.

Pam, welcome back! Glad to see you are settling in with your workouts.

Pat, glad you enjoyed the movie; hope you had a nice dinner, too!

Paine, I finished The Handmaid's Tale, so I'll have to chose another book from mile pile. I read a novel recently called The Subway Girls that was engaging and heartwarming.

I taught goat yoga today - it was a little chaotic, both because of the goats and the setup, but it was fun. The farm was right near the lake - the big one, Lake Ontario - so I stopped at a little park to watch the water. It was really windy, so there were tons of waves; I felt like I was at the ocean!

I also did another short yoga shorts remix today, prep for down dog:

Forgot that I actually meant to post my workouts yesterday, LOL.

I really liked this "Pilates for Shoulder Injuries" video. It starts off with stretches and then moves into some strength work at the end:

I also did another Pilates video, Pilates Class Knee Friendly:

I like Beth's Pilates videos, as they are a combination of classic Pilates with some modern tweaks. I can't tell you want made this any more "knee friendly" than other Pilates routines though.

Happy Monday!

Happy Moan Day everyone! Yesterday I managed:

~ My own Pilates/PT routine with stability ball
~ GYM for an hour of recumbent and weight machines
~ 4,322 steps

Paine, the Creedence concert sounds fun. I never saw them as a band but we went to see John Fogarty at the casino once and he was wonderful! He still looks very good.

Sandra, it was kind of you to attend the service.

Good morning to one and all, sorry to be short today. Make it a wonderful Moan Day!

Squeeze Stronger pretzel/clam floor sequence
Jackie's Essentrics class
Beth's DOWNWARD DOG PREP Yoga

Beth, your downward dog prep video felt really good--thanks for sharing that.
Thank you for the book recommendation! I'll see if my library has it.

Sandra inspired me to do the pretzel/clam floor sequence in Squeeze Stronger because I remember liking that and hadn't done it in a long time--thanks Sandra! The standing leg work in Squeeze Stronger is hard and I don't care for it.

Pat, you're right that John Fogarty looks good for his age.

Pat, I'm having a quiet Moan Day so far - quiet is good, LOL!

Paine, glad you liked the shorts! I always liked those DD preps but the quality of the original video wasn't great; I'm glad I figured out how to refresh the clips as shorts. I looked through my other recent books on Good Reads but couldn't find much that wasn't in more of the thriller variety. Do you read any cozy mysteries? They are good for fun light reads, and there are so many series.

Hello!

Today's Workout: I did various upper body segments from Margaret Richard's Good N Strong, followed Powerfit Harmony no. 3 Core - Body Balance. Earlier today I walked outside for about an hour.

Paine: For a long time I was able to do standing barre exercises despite my cranky knees, but that ship has now sailed! I hardly ever keep a DVD for only one segment but Squeeze Stronger might be an exception.

Waving to all!

Pam, Kate has a new one on my To Watch list "Take It Easy."

Today was one of those days where I tried and gave up on several different things. I've been feeling frustrated workout-out wise because I often seem to be tired and worn out. So today I just wound up doing this Yogea yoga routine (almost gave up on that too b/c the beginning was kind of "meh," but I did like it by the end):

Beth - I saw “Take it Easy” & it’s definitely on my to do list! I hear you about feeling “meh” about workouts. Since I got back I’ve started and “Joni-O’d” several workouts after the first few minutes, so I’m sticking to shorter segments. The Jessica I did today was felt daunting at 35 min, but I finished it. Sorry you’re feeling worn out, has work been stressful?
