Unhappy Is there anything that shapes the butt as well as barre?

'Cuz I'm developing a major dread factor for barre - but I really like the results.

I never thought traditional squats, leg presses, floor work did much for my glutes, but maybe I just wasn't consistant enough?

Have tried or thought of trying TA Meta hipcentric or glutecentric? Those seem to give good results

Classical Stretch and Ballet Body
(ballet body has deep barre squats as well as foldovers that really burn like no other workouts)

Second Ballet Body...did a foldover glute workout today that was amazing! Floorwork does great for my legs, really leans them out, but it also shrinks my butt (which for some people is a good thing, I guess, but I already have small hips and butt), and Ballet Body was what I returned to when I needed to "rebuild".

Currently doing Meta Omni but combining it with Ballet Body to get the best of both worlds, hopefully!

Hi Demeris,

Are you familiar with the T-tapp Tempo Lower Body DVD? I've had it for years but have never used it ...I had misplaced it for a long time and just found it. Just wondering if you had any comment on this one as opposed to Teresa's others.

Thanks,

Kathleen

All of t-tapp will work the bum, but the tempo lower body will fry it. I pulled it out for Wednesday's workout, thinking I'd do the whole thing. I finished the standing portion and was fried. On Friday, I tried to do the whole thing again, gave up at the end of standing and did the lower body portion this morning.

The lower body portion has Diva Derriere, which is an absolute killer

Step aerobics worked for me.

I was going to a gym at the time I discovered Christi Taylor's step workouts. A (male) gym member noticed and asked me how I'd done it (with much blushing). He wanted to be complimentary but didn't know how to say it without implying my butt had been big and flabby before. It was quite sweet.

Have you considered Callanetics Evolution? It uses standing barre work instead of pretzel for hips and behind and the do more exercies for less reps (working the same muscles slightly differently) which still gives you a lot of total workout but you may find it more accessible.
