Cathe 6' Round Yoga Mat

Well, who else stopped in their tracks from whatever you were doing when you got Cathe's email to officially order her Round Yoga Mat?? I stopped cleaning and got right on my laptop to order, LOL! With her 15% off code (15off) you basically get free ground shipping which came to $106.92. An awesome deal!! I thought I better order soon while she has them in stock cause you just don't know how fast they'll go!

How does one store a 6' round mat? Or do you plan on leaving it out always?

Have wanted a round yoga mat for years, but never took the plunge. I'm excited for this accessory! I can't imagine ever needing to store this piece of fitness equipment!

FWIW, here's how it is being packaged for shipping:

Quote:
Each mat is carefully rolled around a plastic pipe and then wrapped in plastic and secured with reusable velcro straps so it doesn't unroll during shipping. Then the wrapped and protected Yoga mat is placed in a reusable black Cathe storage/travel/wash bag (see pic below) for extra protection and lastly, the entire assembly is placed in a box to ship to you.
Attaching a pic I posted in the other cathe equipment thread.

This mat looks perfect for my kettlebell workouts. The one I’m using now is 7 ft. long but only 3 ft. wide, and I’m constantly migrating onto the carpet instead of staying on the mat. I can store it under the couch (I work out in my living room) or under my bed. Off to ponder (but not for long!).

Just ordered mine! I'm planning on rolling it up and storing it cause my gym is in an open basement and my cats would have it shredded if I left it out all the time

I can't wait. This will make my attempts at yoga a little nicer.

?

For those that have used the thicker yoga mats and have left them out regularly...is it okay to do light cardio/walking workouts on them? I would be wearing shoes. Or, should I keep the mat protected and put a rug on top of it for cardio workouts?

I need the extra cushion because I work out on tile in my basement, but also have puzzle mats that I periodically use. Any suggestions?

I walk over my mats all the time, but it does mean that I have to wipe them off almost every day. They pick up dust from my shoes. If you can cover them with something, it might save you some trouble.

I’ve had a 6’ round Mandala mat for several years & it’s still in really good shape. I have laminate flooring. I do all my workouts on it except step (which I rarely do any more). But I’m almost always in bare feet & my cardio is all low impact. I have a dedicated workout room & usually leave it out all the time. I put a yoga mat on it for yoga & a thick Pilates mat on it for floor work.
