ot: my dh--acute renal failure
hello gals,
i have had a tough time lately. my dear husband (one year anniversary yesterday) has acute renal failure. he was feeling poorly all of August.
he went to the Dr. (which he rarely does) and they thought he had a
gastrointestinal problem. he started taking meds and continued to feel poorly.
he was extremely tired and achy. his appetite became very decreased.
we saw my folks in MI over Labor Day and they felt that he was in very poor
shape. we returned home (Cleveland) and took him to the Dr. immediately.
They diagnosed him with pneumonia and ran bloodwork.
The next day we took him to the ER. His bloodwork indicated the Acute Renal failure. They immediately put him in ICU and he latered moved to a normal room. He started dialysis and had many tests.
He was released a week later (late Thursday 9/11). The cause is still
unknown. He is on meds and will continue with dialysis for 4-6 weeks.
His condition is potentially reversible. We are making lots of lifestyle changes.
We eat very healthy--so it's not too much of a departure, but many changes.
He is a healthy guy...I am trying to be positive, but i am scared.
I do feel strong though and trying to take one day at a time.
I can't remember when i worked out last!i have gotten some walks in lately..
that helps. My folks drove down from MI and are staying with me.
Thanks for listening...please say a little prayer for my guy.
