I'm sorry...I should of said WHFN. BBH is habit for me, from following them since early FIRM days. Supposedly, WHFN will be taking the 12 workouts and making compilation workouts with them. They were to be released this last summer, but it never happened. So some of us are wondering if it's still in the works.

I think I'm going to have to break down and get these...

I just read this thread:
http://forum.videofitness.com/showth...trength+factor

It sounds like I won't know if I like them until I try them...

*sigh* decisions...decisions...

There are clips at WHFN.com--you have to register, but it's free.

I think if you're a Firmie, there's a good chance you'll like these and if you're not, they probably won't change your mind. I'm not a Firmie (although I enjoy some of their workouts) and while I enjoyed the excellent production qualities immensely (especially the music), they just didn't fit my needs. I much prefer seperating my cardio and weights. I also prefer to lift heavier than these allowed. I have heard a few people who normally enjoy lifting heavy say they enjoy these workouts for a recovery week so that might also be an option. HTH! Elisabeth

I wouldn't say I'm a firmie either, but I do like some Firm workouts and I'm having a great time with the bss4s. I got a set of the whfns for free and just didn't really like any of them. The little of this, little of that approach didn't work for me. Just as soon as my mojo was working with something, we stopped, posed and did something else. Overall, there was nowhere near enough cardio for me, and I thought there was too much repetition from workout to workout. I don't want tall step, push ups in every workout I do. Finally, Tamela and Melissa really annoyed me. Particularly tamela's antic as a back up exerciser- that really blew Lean for me, which I otherwise liked fairly well.
Just another opinion to digest...

I started out with the BSS1 system and now have ALL of them, so I'm definitely a FIRMie, and I also do Cathe, Debbie Siebers, Tony Horton, UR. I bought all the FitPrimes and KickButts and I LOVE them. They are odd, and they do move from one thing to another at seemingly strange times, but that is part of the appeal for me.

I didn't get it at first, but I stuck with them mostly because I felt so refreshed after working out. I really focused on what the instructor was telling me, and I found myself learning so much about exercises I have been doing for years. (Like lat row, and leg press, and bicep curls...etc!). I ended up doing several whfn rotations in a row, and the results for me personally have been really great. I wasn't expecting much, because I'm not totally wiped out at the end of a workout, like with Cathe, or the FIRM with really heavy weights. I feel like I was working out smarter, and I was achieving muscle fatigue (and sometimes failure!) with lower weight and less reps, since I was initiating the moves more in the muscle.

I gained a great deal of core strength, shoulder and back strength, tricep strength, calf and hamstring strength. My quads look great, and I managed to lose the last 7 pounds of flab that was hanging on, sitting on top of my pretty muscles. My abs and obliques look great. I know I can attribute it to WHFN because that is all that I was doing.

I did a 5 day on/1 day rest rotation (aFitPrime Crosstrainer pair followed by a KickButt Crosstrainer pair followed by either FlexPosture or Floor Burn, then rest) for about three months. If I wanted extra rest days, I took them. I didn't really eat that differently (I eat pretty heathy, but I'm not a saint. And I like drinks on the weekend!).

And, as mentioned before, the production values and music are awesome - better than anything else. And ZERO dread factor! If you end up getting them, I have workout sheets for each of the strength training videos, if you are interested (and a lot of the FIRMs, too!).

Because there aren't a lot of reps, I am able to go quite heavy with these workouts, too, and thereby achieve muscle failure. The FitPrime workouts are also easy to modify up - tossing away the balance stick, etc. I didn't care much though for Flexposture and Lean though - too scattered to really accomplish anything.
