Look Great in 8 - 2021 Edition!

Hi all,

I was interested in this rotation, and I was wondering, now that there are so many new workouts available since it first came out, what other workout do you think would fit good on each category?

Your kind help would be greatly appreciated!

Link to the rotation (thank you Alta!): http://forum.videofitness.com/showthread.php?t=104923

Additional info: http://forum.videofitness.com/showthread.php?t=193501

For example:

Do you think Cathe's Total Body Giant Set would fit week 4 for the superset week? And Cathe's PHA as week 1 (circuit). What about Pyramid Pump?

Other sets: Met-Rx 180, Body Beast, ChaLean Extreme, Edge Booty Extreme, Ript90 Fit, etc.

Are you thinking about doing this? This sounds good!

Cathe’s XTrain Burn Sets would be good for the heavy week.

Maybe there is a superset premix on Giant Sets?

Some of the Beast workouts may work great.

I think Cathe’s Giant Sets or Ramped Upper Body may be a good High Reps. I recall the rep range being kind of high? Not sure, I’ll have to look!

I have been wanting to put a rotation together for quite a while, based on the original template, or at least as close as possible, I always thought it looked like a fun rotation to do.

I have all the ones you have mentioned so far! I don't remember all the reps range. I was checking Cathe site but she doesn't always mention reps range on her descriptions.

Burn Set sounds like a good fit for the heavy week as you mentioned! What about for the lower body, Xtrain Legs is not heavy, isn't it? There is a lot of unweigthed exercises.

ETA: It'd be great if Cathe would create the Look Great in Eight Workout System based on the original article, with all the workouts with the reps, sets and muscle splits corresponding to each week! A girl can dream, isn't it!?

I think the PHAs might work for the circuit week.

For heavy Legs - XT Cardio Leg Blast, strength only premix or Fit Split Legs, P30 Legs, even Slow & Heavy (but I don’t think I’d want to do that). STS has that separate disc of heavy legs too!

2 Lazy 4 the Gym may be a resource for rep ranges. I’m sure she has reviewed all of Cathe’s workouts and she’s great about listing all the details.

That is the only rotation I ever finished, and I did it twice. I'm not sure why it worked so well for me other than it gave tons of flexibility.

I read the descriptions of the types of workouts and loosely followed them. As long as the spirit of the workout was close to what was intended, I counted it.

Good luck figuring it out.

I did check 2 Lazy 4 the Gym, I love her detailed reviews! That is were I found out that the PHA (from Strong & Sweaty) was 3 sets of 12 reps, I checked some more, but it seems like she doesn't post reps range for every workout.

I think the variety help from getting boring of doing the same thing over and over. I think you are right, there are some workouts that might be similar, but none would be exactly the same. So, it is wise to go with the spirit of it and just have fun with it.

I scanned a few of 2L4TG reviews too and didn’t find info on rep ranges so I stopped looking after awhile.

Cathe’s user guides doesn’t state the rep ranges in her overview either.

Total Body Giant Sets will fit the Superset category. LITE Stacked Sets Upper Body might fit too.

For high reps - STS Total Body has a set of 16 reps and then a set of 12 reps. Can easily add a few more reps to the 2nd set. I think CTX UB is pretty high rep, too, but not sure.

Heavy - XTrain Burn Sets, PS Series, STS

Other than Body Beast I don’t know anything about the other workouts you mentioned. Sorry!

I looked at my notes from the only time I did this rotation and I was all over the place. Lol. As long as it was close enough, it was good enough.

I’m glad you brought this up. I may start next week. A Cathe Look Great in 8 series would be great I’m sure M&F Hers wouldn’t have a problem. Are they still in business?

Just wanted to say that you may find some rep info in these Cathe excel spreadsheets. I did the more recent ones from RWH onward and definitely included rep numbers, rounds, weights, etc. in mine and some (but not all) of the older excel worksheets done by other people may have this type of info too.

Speaking of, I should someday get around to doing excel worksheets for Perfect Pump and other Cathe workouts that have come out since the LITE series. Plus High Reps and some other random ones...

Not sure if this is of any use or not but thought I'd let you know it's a resource.
