desertMermaid, my heart goes out to you - I'm so very sorry for your loss. Hearing your story made me happy to JUST have shingles in my eye. ((HUGS))

Leslie - I'm glad that your husband is ok - so scary.

So sorry for your loss, desertMermaid. My sister had a miscarriage and she and her husband felt very lost for a long while.

Re: the shingles, I had shingles in my mid-twenties! Thankfully, I haven't had a re-run of that--yet! I should probably check into the vaccine. I turned 60 in February.

I'm feeling much better now since recovering from my strange and sudden illness, so I am gradually making progress to get back on track with my health and fitness goals. I keep having small setbacks with stress-inducing situations, though, which keeps my focus somewhat off-center. I hope I can learn to deal with that kind of stuff (malfunctioning lawn mower; forgotten items that I left at a store after purchasing ; a trip the derm where I got moles removed in spots on my back that I can't reach so how the hell am I going to take care of them since I live alone!?). But I keep telling myself it's not that bad or I'll find a way. I always have before and I can do it again!

My temperature went from normal to 103.8 in a matter of a few hours. Scary!! Anyway, I got medical assistance and all is well now, if not quite 100% just yet. I just got out of the shower, though, and, wow, do I feel better!

Now, here's what I'm thinking: While it was happening, I wondered if I would come out alive from that situation. I had never had a fever that high (that I know of) and I felt alone and scared. After the crisis was over, I thought about many things--what if this..., what if that... Then, I decided that this is the time to pick myself up and get things done in my life! Well, not today. But when I'm feeling myself again.

Has anybody else had an experience like that? Did your plan stick? There are so many things waiting to get done in my life and I just need to start somewhere. I can't sit around hoping I can accomplish something without acting on it. I don't want to wait until it's too late.

That being said--I'm thinking about doing Jessica Smith's Under the Weather YT workout tomorrow morning, to get me re-started with exercise.
Thanks for listening!

Good for you!!! Seems we are on the same boat.

Oh my goodness, great big (((hugs))) to all who've shared their stories, and also to those VFers experiencing similar limitations who haven't posted here.
I wish everyone a complete return to wellness. Let's not forget to be kind to ourselves as well as others.
