I've never done a YBB workout. I've had an interest in them a few times but always had other distractions. I still have plenty of distractions, but am interested once again in trying YBB. Which one would you ladies recommend as a first one to try? Is there a resounding favorite?

Hi,
I think the "Basic" from the original set (not sure what it is called now) is a good starting place, it includes little segments that contain all the YBB elements - a little dance, a little yoga, some ballet, some abs and some cardio/sculpt.

The Lives are just fun!!

Hi, I was the OP here, and did YBBs to cheer myself up while I was having radiation treatments. My favorite was Bollywood -- I even bought a jangly hip scarf for a few dollars on ebay.

If you belong to swapadvd.com, they have a bunch of YBB dvds on there.

DesertMermaid, IMO the workout formerly known as YBB Basic is a good taste of the whole style. It moves through a funky and fun warmup through the cardio with weights, ballet, yoga and abs, hitting everything. Wonderful music.

Cynthia - what a great idea about the hip scarf - I may get one and use it with my Belly Fits, too.

Good idea. Unfortunately, I don't belong to swapadvd.

How fun. I'm glad you were able to enjoy yourself despite radiation treatments.

Pat/Donna, thanks for the recommendation re: basic DVD. Sounds like the perfect place to start

Personally, I just about never do the Basic DVD. For me, the Libes with their energy, a bit of yoga, dance and toning are perfect. I have Go Go, Bollywood, Cardio Cabaret and Hip Hop Abs and would like to acquire the others eventually.

The original set of the YBB Lives included seven discs - all of those mentioned in the list, plus one called Complete Body Shaping.

There is also the last set, the YBB Masters. So glad I invested in those. They are:
  1. Yoga Core
  2. AM Latte
  3. Goddess Abs
  4. Goddess Booty
  5. Pajama Time

These are ALL great and I love them all. I also love the Lives, they are awesome. The only live I don't like is cardio cabaret. but I love all of the rest. I guess I am in the minority here but I don't love the first 2 workouts as much. I still like them but not as much as the lives and the Masters!
