Actually the first video is hopeless (Geri doesnīt stop talking rubbish, it doesnīt really flow because of this plus other factors, etc) but the second one is brilliant. Geri only comes out with one or two silly comments, the modifier works along instead of spending half the time in childīs pse while Geri shows off, the setting is pretty, and Kety Appleton is great. In fact, I wrote to her to suggest she puts out videos under her own steam, and she replied that she is going to do so.
Actually I have them both on VHS and wish I had the second one on DVD, as it is really nice to split up if you want. It has a long gentle warm up and a sun salutation warm up, then the body of the practice and then a really nice savasana. (The first one had an excellent savasana too). |

I tried what I take to be the first one tonight, and despite obvious drawbacks I have to say I was amused.
The sequencing is Sivananda style - very different than what we typically see in mainstream US yoga media. It goes from pablum-spoon-fed sun salutations to headstand and shoulderstand/bridge transition. Standing poses are at the end. Geri couldn't triangle her way out of a paper bag. True about the trash talk- my jaw dropped more than once. Intrigued, I actually watched the bonus interview. The world now knows what Geri's King Charles spaniel does in the backyard. ETA - and, oh wow - its Geri's Birthday She's 33 on August 6th
