I'm a long time insomniac so since I read this thread, I've been trying forward bends before bed and I do believe it is helping (and I don't care if it is physiological or psychological!)

I did a yahoo search of "forward bends insomnia" and came up with this helpful little page from Yoga Journal: https://www.yogajournal.com/practice/1467.cfm . It's interesting how it recommends when your head is on the ground or bolster (as in child's pose) to have the forehead more toward the eyes rather that toward the hairline.

This is great, thank you. I guess ya gotta start early to get 5 minutes in each pose. Maybe 30 mins. before bed.

Can anybody describe "supported shoulder stand"? I thought I knew what that was until she said something about doing it with a chair. I thought it was the one where you have your legs in the air, your hands as high up on the back as you can get themwhere all of your weight is on your shoulders, and there is a sharp bend to the neck. But then she said supported with a chair and that threw me, can't be this pose, right?

There are many variations of supported shoulderstand -- there's even more than one using a chair as I recall. You can probably get them all (or most of them) by Googling it. You can even ask Google just for image results. And of course Yoga Journal is a natural place to look.

I’m super observant Red, I doubt anyone else noticed.

My other super power is my ability to fit both feet simultaneously in my mouth as the same time. Fortunately I’m a pretty good runner. lol

I've had sleep disruption issues for a while now, and have found Yoga Nidra to be a huge help in coping with exhaustion. It's a meditative practice you do on your back, eyes closed.

I like this cd best, I've got the tracks on my mp3 player and use them regularly.

In terms of 'yoga moves to do before bed' I've used these quite often:
