Interesting. I have been diabetic for about 13 years. My endo never mentioned weight training as a hazard to diabetics, and he does know my workout regimen. I also have been seeing a retina specialist since I was 15 (1979) because my extreme near-sightedness makes me susceptible to retinal tears (I've had 2). But that was many years before I developed diabetes. The only advice he gave me was not to dive into a swimming pool ---- or get hit over the head with any blunt instruments. At least one of those I can avoid.
You might want to look this up to see what the most current information is on the subject. Also, if you want to avoid over-exertion at all, you might want to stay away from Cathe altogether and consider other trainers. Cathe is great but is famous for her intensity.
