Day 16!

Barbara Benagh Yoga for Back Care (General Back Care) 40 minutes.
  • Dustbunny (purchased in 2014!)
  • General Back Care (virgin workout.)
  • Barbara's Southern voice is so calming and soothing.
  • Slower, gentle practice, but somewhat active.
  • Beautiful scenery (waterfall garden and mountain backdrop)
  • 5 other practice ~20 minutes in length or so.

  1. Lumbar Care
  2. Neck Care
  3. De-stress and Restore
  4. Sciatica
  5. Scoliosis

For some reason, I tend to reach for Barbara's Yoga for Stress Relief. I'm not sure I even realized I had the Back Care Yoga hiding on my shelf , but I intend on trying out the other practices.

Good to see you back here! Hope you're being very careful and don't overdo :-)
I might also continue because I still have some workouts that I need to do, but I miss my regulars.

Day 15

Jessica Smith: Gentle Yoga Plus Pilates

I splurged and purchased a couple of Jessica DVDs that I had my eye on. I was going to wait until after the challenge to do them since I'm trying to shake things up a bit.

However, after a long wait/visit at the veterinarian's office with my two fur babies, I needed some gentle yoga with Jessica. I didn't do the Pilates workout.

It turns out it's a balance workout and not really gentle (or relaxing) yoga as I see it. Albeit, there are no handstands or other advanced poses in the workout.

I liked the workout even though it wasn't what I expected. It's a challenging balance workout, so if you like balance work, you will probably like this one.

Thanks Karla, it's good to be back!

Day 5 - YogiBethC (our very own Toaster), Staycation Yoga Stretch Yin Yoga.

The yin yoga was nice, using a chair as a prop with some great upper body and side body stretching.

Make it a great day everyone!

Stopping by to wave hello! I'm pausing on this challenge simply because I've been on my feet all day for the past 2 weeks working summer camp. I don't have the energy to do a "workout" in the evening. Yoga has mostly been on my own or Kassandra's 10 min Evening Yoga series.

I love this concept and will continue with "20 Instructors" in August !!

DAY 16 (July 28, 2021) virgin

2003 Jeanette Jenkins Kickboxing Bootcamp

(Rest day yesterday. I enjoyed this intermediate kickboxing workout -- includes both cardio endurance/muscular strength. Last month, I did JJ's Cardio Kickboxing and really enjoyed it. I prefer Cardio Kickboxing over Kickboxing Bootcamp.)

Day 17

Molly Fox Skinny Jeans (Deep Flow Yoga) 40 minute workout.

A dustbunny to be sure. I bought this when it first came out, and don't remember it much. I probably did it once, as there was so much hype regarding the title "Skinny Jeans." But, it's so goooooooooood!
  • Fantastic music
  • Good instruction and visual cues
  • Two other students/instructors with Molly
  • Modifications used/shown (block)
  • Nice (perfect) pace
  • Feels so good when you're done!
  • Time flies when you're having fun!
  • My goldilocks workout

I'm so glad I bought this and finally had a chance to try it. I might have not been into yoga all that much in 2011! Too bad for me, but today was my lucky workout day!

Day 16

Shape Toning Workout w/Michelle Dozios & Lisa Wheeler

This was my least favorite workout of the challenge. It was so annoying that I pulled it out after only doing the upper body and 1/2 of the thighs workout. I like a workout to flow smoothly and without interruptions.

After each exercise set, the workout paused so you could see the Shape logo for a couple of seconds. It must be some type of poorly thought out branding/marketing technique. I couldn't stand it.

Sadly, it probably would have been a decent workout if it didn't have the constant pausing. The cuing wasn't the best, but it would still be easy to catch on after a couple of times doing the workout.

Day 15 - Leah Sarago Ballet Body Lower Body. Virgin workout, virgin instructor.

This workout was perfect! My legs are still trembling, but my knees feel good

Yesterday, didn't work out. Just wasn't feeling it. It's been a trying week at work, and with a friend. Mentally, couldn't do it. But I'm back on track today!

DAY 17 (July 29, 2021) virgin

YT: growwithjo (aka Johanna Devries)
  • 3 Mile Fast Walking to Lose Belly Fat (~45m)
  • 10 Minute Cooldown Stretch/Recovery
I've previously done a few of growwithjo's YT workouts, and I do enjoy her workouts and her cute personality. I wanted something fairly easy today, low key, and with no equipment. This workout fits the bill perfectly.
