Exclamation Cooling thoughts to those in the Pacific NorthWest!

I see on the news that there is a dangerous heat wave in the PNW. We're used to that where we live, but 100+ temperatures in Eugene, OR? 112 in Olympia, WA? Yikes, say it ain't so!

Many don't have A/C up there.

Please take care and look in on any seniors you know.

I heard the weather forecast on KEXP (Seattle station I listen to online) and thought they were joking about the heat. The PNW isn't used to the heat and you're right about many not having A/C. I hope there are cooling stations set up.

Any VFers in that area- be careful and stay hydrated!

It’s supposed to be 111 tomorrow. I’ve never seen that here in all my life. I am blessed with air conditioning. I had it installed a few years ago when we’d have a week of over 90 degrees every summer and my house is a split so I live upstairs. Even now with air my thermometer is showing near 80. Over 90 used to be uncommon but now that happens for a week or two each year.

I’m sure John Richards on KEXP will have some Good hot tunes for us to commemorate this event tomorrow morning

I don’t know about you, but I am weary of living through “unprecedented” events.

I just can't imagine being in upper 90, low 100 degree temps with no air conditioning.

I hope a cool front moves in and brings some relief and rain, as I've been told you are also in a drought there.

It was 112d here (Vancouver Wa) today with a wind that made it feel like a convection oven. Tomorrow 112-115. The real awful part is the night temps are suppose to stay in the eighties tonight!
Hunkered down inside with ac.
I decided to only do Classical stretch workouts until this breaks. I do not need to work up a sweat with cardio or weight. They fit the bill.
Hope everyone is staying cool.

I think we’ll see cooler air eventually but it typically does not rain July or August in Western WA. We might go for quite a spell before any measurable precipitation.

I think I just spilled one of our best kept regional secrets LOL!

We broke 100F today up here on Vancouver Island, unheard of for us! Our “hot” summer days are in the low 80s & even that’s unusual.

I'm in the Panhandle of N. Idaho and I'm watching the news right now. 105 today for us. Crazy!! Our County just hosted Ironman yesterday and it was brutial on the athletes.

I'm am grateful for air conditioning.

It is projected to last several more days.

I ment to say, we are normally in the high 70's this time of year. That's just how extreme it has been, and will be for the next week. Plus we had a dry spring in reference to rainfall totals. So it is a tender box here for sure.
