Wai Lana has good beginner yoga dvds. She's on some PBS stations so you may be able to preview her style there. Rodney Yee's AM Yoga for Your Week is also good.

Oh, thought I'd mention that when I first got started with yoga, I got a lot of good instruction from the classes I took. Doing live classes for a while gave me more than enough knowledge to use most of the easier yoga dvds.

One thing I remember, though: the studio I went to kinda rotated through teachers, and some of them just did not understand that beginners need to work at a beginner level and pace. A few of those teachers overworked us, and I remember being very sore afterwards. It's not supposed to be like that, so be sure to work at a level that's comfortable for you.

Rodney Yee's Complete Yoga for Beginners is good. There is a basic practice that you start with and then there are some other practices to try once you've learned the poses.
