Ugh..overthinking ABB vs Intervals

Well, I got caught up in researching ABB (aerobic base building) last night after it was mentioned in another thread. Found an awesome VF thread from 2007 with lots of good information. Then I started doubting what I'm doing as I am just starting back after basically being a slug for a year and a half. I actually was awake a lot during the night worrying about this!

I am at a low fitness level right now, but have been back on track since Christmas.

My final conclusion is that altho ABB may be where I need to be working physically (to encourage fat burning), I am LOVING doing barre (which does not get me anaerobic) along with Karen Voight's Sleek Essentials/new workouts and Charlene Prickett high intensity/low impact workouts (where I do get anaerobic). I decided with my track record of, well, NO track record that I would do better with something that is fun and that I am really looking forward to doing.

I also thought if I ranted here a small amount, I would not obsess tonight and get some sleep!

Dobby, I agree that you should do what you like if you are trying to establish a routine.
Could you please post a link to that thread about ABB? TIA.

I agree as well.
More important than type of exercise, especially when getting back into the habit, is consistency.

It was past my bedtime BUT I bookmarked it!

The posts, especially Soapmaker's explanations of the biochemical parts of it, were very informative (altho does divert to a pie discussion at one point, lol). I am always impressed with the knowledge on this forum.
