I do a loop series my physical therapist gave me for a meniscus tear. I happen to use Perform Better loops, which come in three colors. It's good to have a spare, because they break occasionally.
A lateral walk, in a slight squat, keeping feet wide. 1) I started with a yellow around my thighs and worked my way up to green around my thighs, yellow around my ankle. 2)Lying on my side, legs bent, feel aligned with hips--clam shell opening. Then side straight leg raise on the floor. All these with loop around my thighs. 3) I do a series with the loop around my ankles, holding something for stability: side kicks, abduction, with the active leg slightly pigeon-toed so leading with the heel and small back kicks: https://images-eu.ssl-images-amazon....1AVfXIxUsL.jpg https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com...12f5badb24.jpg 4) Again with loop around my ankles, the "skier" moving my foot back and forth at a 45 degree angle. This is a stabilization exercise, so I don't hold anything. However, it's fine to touch the floor with each movement. Re bands, there are a couple of figure 8 band videos too. |

Years ago, my fitness routine was alternating treadmill/NordicTrac and upper body/lower bands - doing one machine and one set of bands every day. I made the band routines up, based on an old book (that I still have) by TamiLee Webb. I'll never forget the first time I wore shorts in front of my sister one Spring and she ranted and raved about how great my legs looked. Of course, I was also a lot younger then.
I still have the audiocassettes of music I made for those band workouts. I wonder if the routines would come back to me. Of course, I'd need to find something to play them on. |

10 MS Belly, Butt, and Thigh Blasters have squats. I was going to suggest that one as well, but there are squats.
Stephanie, I was to try the Bottom Line workout as well as her Power 4 Pink. They both look really good to me!

Another workout just crossed my mind!
There's also a vintage Kathy Smith workout from the 1986 called ToneUp that used rubber bands. The leg work is done mostly on the floor, but with some standing work (that isn't squats and lunges from what I recall). It's the only Kathy that wasn't put on DVD. (I still have the VHS of it, as I'm a big KS fan) It's near the end of the workout, after the abdominal work. Here it is on YouTube, with the band leg work starting at 44:29. I'm thinking a figure 8 tubing or one of those Pure Barre double tubings would work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmHqTw6OYZg
