To be consistent.
To use the workouts on my shelf and not worry about what I don't have.
To use my YMCA membership occasionally so it's worth paying for each month.
To listen to my body and "truly" figure out what method of exercise is best for ME.
To drop the 60 lbs I've gained over the last few years.
To learn how to handle my stress in a healthy way vs. eating.

I could probably add other goals but I think that's a good start. If I can focus on these, then maybe I can add to the list later as I progress.

To start thinking of food as fuel.
To exercise consistently, at least 5 days per week.
To drink more water.
To drop 15 pounds (will happen if I follow the goals above).

As I mentioned in another thread, I had unexpected open heart surgery in November. My 2012 fitness goal is to figure out, with my cardio rehab people, exactly what exercise I can do and what I can't, and doing what I can! I hope to know when I can increase my exercise. For instance, I am not allowed to do floor work. But when I finally am able, I want to know it so I can do it. I'm not taking exercise for granted anymore, that's for sure!

My best wishes for a speedy recovery.

To keep on doing what I'm doing (cardio w/Leslie or Ellen + pilates/yoga/barre 5-6x/week) but to make more time for meditation and Kundalini yoga again as well.

Stay consistent with exercise, do better planning meals to have a more varied and healthy diet (and stop the afternoon brownie indulgences!). For exercise, I'm open to trying all sorts of things: TA, barre, yoga, pilates, Firm, circuits, dance, kickboxing, TM running in the winter and outside in the spring. I really need both heart-pumping workouts (not necessarily straight cardio) and yoga in order to deal with stress.

To finish my Firm Challenge, which I've already started. I'm going to make it!

Best of luck and good health to you, ladyveg!

I just thought of another important resolution add-on:
~To get rid of every. single. workout that I don't use. No more hanging onto videos because others have raved or have gotten results, etc. If for whatever reason I don't like a workout and it's not fun, it's going!

My NYR is to find a better balance and dial my workouts down! This past year I have worked hard nearly every day,2 hours a day, rarely taking a rest day. My rest day was usually a "recovery" workout. I did advanced FirmExpress rotation for the month and hit it hard, plus a weight workout. so.. overdoing it by a lot.
I also have paid for this in a knee/leg injury that has kept me from doing anything- like from walking! and just keeping my leg up! for 2 weeks time to reflect.-so I come to 2012 with the idea of achieving balance and moderation.

My resolution for the past three years has been to exercise at least 180 minutes per week. That simple goal has been working well for me, so I'm going to stick with it.
