Question Favorite GLUTE workout.

I'm on a quest for better glutes! Please list your most effective GLUTE (not thigh!) workout. I'm interested in DVD (or youtube) only. I'm interested to know how long you stuck with your workout until you saw progress and if you're still doing it.

Thanks!

Iíve had some great luck with Margaret Richard recently. Her floor work for glutes has been very effective for me. She uses a lot of bridges, Glute kickbacks and then side leg lifts For that outer thigh. Iíve done it with and without leg weights. My butt is higher now after eight weeks. I have lost a half an inch.

Squats are also good but sometimes they are hard on the knees. I also like deadlifts and high step ups but I donít do this often and the Margaret Richard routine has been sustainable for me.

love Margaret too.

my faves:
standing: The Firm Standing Legs
floor:
Tamilee Webb I want those buns (included with I want that body DVD)
Winsor PIlates Buns & Thighs ( i know you said no thighs, but this benefits the buns a lot). either the one w/band or the Power one with a band are good.

The best glute toner I've found is using a circular resistance band around my thighs (above the knee cap) and doing side steps, in a semi squat position and standing upright (mix them up) for at least 100 steps. I've done this three times a week for at least 18 months and my 57 year old booty is tight/toned. It reactivated my lazy glute that is something I have to constantly battle due to scoliosis (yes, just one glute lazy because of it).

100 steps total of each type? 100 on the right side and 100 for the left side? I will give this a try! Thanks.

I'm kicking myself for getting rid of my Winsor Pilates Buns and Thighs dvd!

a great add on for buns is the 15 minute workouts for dummies by Gay Gaspar. just enough time at 15 minutes a nice 3 minute warmup and doesn't overwork the area. I started using it when I had some physical therapy exercises I had to do. I also like the 15 min. arm workout.included are abs and thighs but I haven't done those yet. this is a really good dvd to have around if you need to work one area -if you have an injury- or pt exercises to do.

Favorite glute workout? I wouldn't say favorite is a word that comes to mind. Do they work? YES! Brazil Butt Lift- specifically the Bum Bum workout and High and Tight. Leandro takes some getting used to as an instructor, but these workouts do slim and shape your booty. High and Tight is the best of the set- standing work with a loop band, mat work with the loop band, and finally some ankle weight work for the booty.

I did a month rotation of this set and noticed I was more toned and lifted. As a bonus, my hip got stronger and the occasional hip pain I had been experiencing disappeared.

50 steps each way, 100 total. In my workout space, it's about 11 steps across, so I just keep going until I hit 100.

I'm going to try adding those band steps to my day!

I really like Winsor B&T. A similar-feeling workout (to me) is Patricia Friberg's A Bottom Line & Core Defined. The lower body segments are about 15 min each. One all on the floor and the other starts standing with band work like mentioned above. (If you're unfamiliar with this one, I'm pretty sure I reviewed it).
