8. Neighbourhood walk; light gardening

30. Michelle Briehler/YT "Low impact total body compound" ...(It turned out to not be low impact, not even the warm-up, 70% of moves on the wrists, tons of running-jumping, barely total body as it was mainly core, so I did less than half and got my heart rate up with some side squats at least); few minutes on the HiiT Bike
31. Rhoda Sommer heavyish weights Lower body; Pilates knee stabilization + calves quick add-on; Late night Neighbourhood walk. Loving the dip in temperatures!!!

august 2021…

1. CL: PHA 2020 + LH QI GONG: DAY 27. P.M. DA: Walk Firm. DA is a new purchase, bought it from Best Buy. Not bad, just dated looking, like SS. Denise is her usual exuberant self (I like her, annoyances and all). Also the back of DVD for Walk Firm & Totally Firm is dark purple. Not sure if this means it’s a pressed DVD if dark purple vs light purple. I looked at the description on Best Buy’s website and I didn’t see a statement about these not being pressed DVDs. I’m ok either way but I won’t buy any more of DAs old workouts from Best Buy (even if I were interested in something).

2. LITE: Cardio Party. This is the first time I’ve actually done this workout and thought to myself that I really like it.
3. CL: Metabolic Bootcamp
4. P30: Perfect Low Impact Hiit + Yv2: WISI (1st 15 mins}, Mid-day: 2nd Half of Yv2: WISI
5. rest day…

20 Instructors

6. #1 CATHE STRONG & SWEATY: PHA. I used moderate weights, 8# for upper & 10 #’s for lower body. The 3 rounds were not as grueling and tedious. Definitely a sweat palooza. I had 5427 steps at the end of my work day so did Yv2: MYB.
7. #2 AMY BENTO - CIA 2901: Kickbox Surge, no core work, 66 mins (Dust Bunny)
8. #3 KATINA HUNTER: Pump Party + P.M. YV2: SS
9. #4 KRISTIN DOWELL: Hi/Lo Recharge
10. #5 LEANDRO: You V 2: Work It! Shake It! & #6 LEE HOLDEN: Qi Gong 30 Day Challenge - Day 28, Day 29 & Day 30
11. #7 MIKE DONAVANIK’S Extreme Burn Ripped (virgin) - Workout 2 & Workout 1 P.M. Yv2: MYB
12. #8 TRACEY STAEHLE: Cardio Kickbox Challenge (dust bunny). P.M. Yv2: SS
13. #9 PAUL KATAMI: Burn & Build (dust bunny).
14. #10 GAY GASPER: CIA 2601 - Cardio Step Express, 70 mins (virgin)
15. #11 AMY DIXON: Super Fit Bod (virgin) P.M. Yv2: MYB
16. …rest day…
17. #12 SHAUN T: Max 30 Cardio Challenge (virgin)
18. #13 DENISE AUSTIN: Totally Firm (dvd-virgin). P.M. #14 Jessica Smith Walk Strong 3 - 1 Mile of Motivation + Boogie IT
19. #15 JANIS SAFFELL/GUILLERMO GOMEZ: Hardcore Kickbox Circuit (dust bunny)
20. …rest day…
21. #16 AUTUMN: 21 Day Fix - Total Body Cardio Fix(virgin). I’ve only ever done the Plyo Fix workout from this set. Maybe I’ll make my way through the whole series one day.
P.M. Boss Bands Total Body Timesaver#1 Legs, Shoulders & Core, 28mins. I used the same band as Cathe, no gloves. I enjoyed it although it did feel easy (I like doing easy workouts). The bands kept me engaged. Although most of the exercises are the same as in some of Cathe’s other workouts, I think the use of the band makes it more playful and not just hard work like it can feel sometimes with weights.

The orange band felt too easy in places so I’ll definitely start with the lime green band next time. My favorite move is the stir the pot move. I definitely felt the burn in lots of places and as soon as I got tired of holding the band the exercise would be over and on to the next thing.

I can see myself using this as a recovery day/week workout or as my 2nd, easier workout of the day or even on a low energy day. TS premix #1 went by fast and left me wanting more. I’m looking forward to doing the full workout.

I love the background.

I’ve trained myself to ignore Jen so my eyes only veered to her side of the screen a couple of times. .
22. #17 CASS MARTIN/LORETTA BATES: Zumba Rush + CATHE BOSS LOOPS: Glutes & Core - I used the lime green band for the whole workout. For the standing work, I should have used the blue band. I kept adjusting the band and still didn’t feel much in my legs or butt during the standing work. I felt the floor work though. I skipped the core work but it looked good. Felt more like a cardio legs workout. Good music and will make a nice sub for XTrain Legs, Lean Legs & Abs & Great Glutes.
23. #18 MISTY TRIPOLI - House Party Workout 1(virgin)
24. #19 FEYI JEGEDE: The Bootylicious Workout - warm up + Booty Barre (dust bunny) - I really enjoyed this.
25. #20 JOEL & JERICHO Core De Force: MMA Speed
26. MISTY TRIPOLI: House Party Workout 2. This was easy, breezy fun. Something I can do and not break a sweat, just groove to the music.

BOSS BANDS & BOSS LOOPS Low Impact Rotation. I checked out the Boss Band & Loops User Guide and thought this rotation looked awesome. I’m going to start tomorrow.

Week 1
27. BOSS BANDS Total Body. 2nd time doing this was the charm. I did the full workout this time. I started out thinking, 57 minutes is kind of long, but it went by fast which was surprising. I used the green and blue band for the whole workout. I choked up on the band a little more and was able to really feel the burn during the lower body work. My legs are strong so I need more resistance for lower body. Next time I’ll try the blue band and/or maybe shop for bands with a little more resistance. The biceps and triceps segments are a burner. Jen was most annoying during the biceps segment. It was obvious that her band was too much, I don’t know why she just didn’t drop one of the bands or brought her feet closer together rather than continue. It looks as though Jen is talking a lot which is why I think Jai gives her the side eye sometimes. Where is Amanda when you need her? The pushup with band around the upper back had me wondering, after the 2nd set, why was I making pushups harder? They are plenty hard as is. Short floor abs - my favorite type of abs. I felt worked and energized instead of exhausted when done. The set is beautiful, probably one of my favorites. Although these are not advanced, I appreciate having less intense workouts in my fitness library, too!

I wonder if Cathe is continuing to do DVD workouts because she knows a big part of her fan base likes DVDs. At any point, she can decide to record some CL workouts in her studio and sell them as downloads (I’d definitely buy). Turn around would be a lot quicker, for sure! My witching aside, let me just say that I LOVE Cathe!
28. XTRAIN: AOLIH + MISTY TRIPOLI: Body Grove House Party Workout 3. I got an early start this morning. I went to the car wash and washed my car (redo from last week since I did such a terrible job), lol. I remembered to take microfiber towels this time. I also stopped in at Wal Mart & TJ Maxx (boo, didn’t find anything). I did my workout after I ran my errands so I had to talk myself into starting. I was ok after I had my coffee. AOLIH was a lot of fun and so was Misty. I’m really digging the Body Groove vibe.
29. LIS: Afterburn - Double Trouble Premix. Used my own music and the premix that has no dread factor.
30. BOSS LOOPS Glutes & Core - Timesaver #2 (no floorwork & core). I kept the band about 3 inches above my knees, I felt it this time. As a matter of fact, I was feeling it a little too much. Worked up a good sweat.
31. STEP BOSS: PHA3 - Lots of flying squirrel shaped (but without the tail), plopping, sweat during this workout ! Brenda was my sister in sweat. I was still sweating during my shower. I didn’t stop sweating until I arrived at work (an hour after my shower). Also, it took me an extra 6 minutes to complete the workout. . I wasn’t expecting to sweat so much this morning. Jai was barely sweating, at least that I could see.

Hi, ladies. I went and helped DS with trimming his dog this morning, then went to the orthodontist (the retainer part of my night guard broke before my trip). I didn't do any weeding on Saturday, ended up running errands instead so I'll be doing that today. I'm also cleaning off shelves to re-arrange the family/workout room. DH wants to paint, we need new carpet down there, and he wants a bigger tv which means we will need a new couch. All before Thanksgiving.
I'll be getting steps in today, and hopefully a short workout. I had a cold (got it from DH after my trip) so I did nothing over the weekend.

Happy August, ladies!

Mostly getting in sessions on my AMT as well as some neighborhood bike rides. I had bought a Garmin fitness watch which among other things measures stair climbing. Yesterday while helping my DS get the house ready for a family member visit, I wound up going up and down the stairs 15 times. Our stairs are unusually steep side in the rear of the house, and I can feel it in my legs today.

Waves to all.

AnMrsDe - glad you got some direction from your doctor and that your hip is in great condition. Must be a relief. You did a lot of work the other day, made me tired just reading it.

Chris - I can understand the military wanting to keep the location confidential. Hopefully it will be a quick rotation for your son. Glad you had a great visit with your DIL. Also love the updated picture. Looks like the kiddos are fighting over who gets to hang on grandma. Hope the cold is improving.

Cab - You would think you got plenty of leg work using your fancy AMT machine but sounds like steep stairs are hitting your legs in a whole new way. Good to see you popping in.

Hi to everyone!

Hi, ladies. I did treadmill walks today and yesterday - still getting my steps in. I've been doing de-cluttering and weeding instead of workouts. I'm heading to my parent's house tomorrow, so I will probably do a workout before that.
T2B, those little girlies are such a kick! They are fun.
Cab, good job with the stair climbing!

Hey all~~ Nice to see everyone here this month! (Hope Cher & April are ok...didn't see their entries).

Hi Chrys! Love your avatar with the kiddos clinging to their grandma...that was a great shot! Does your DH go with you when you travel?

T2B, thank you! While I am relieved about my hips looking good on the x-rays, I am now concerned what I *shouldn't* do with my lower back. Lifting heavy is out for now along with the exercises that may tweak it, but I still have the problem of 24/7 pain when walking. So, I don't get it! It's discouraging, for sure, when you are used to summer walks to get the excess off from winter/COVID!!! :/ Oh well...things could definitely be way worse!!!!//I was exhausted all week last week as my sister was out of town, so I had "double duty" with the parents. She got back yesterday...thank God! Now next week I'll be crazy busy as well, since DD & DSIL move into a bigger condo which will require me to help clean and move. (I'm thrilled for them, though, as their current condo was just so small...their cats aren't going to know what to do with all this extra room, LOL!). One upside for me though, is that my house will seem sooo much bigger when all her *junk* gets moved to their place! (All her stuff, including most wedding gifts, had to remain here due to no storage space). Hallelujah!!!

Jane, are you getting those baby shower plans lined up yet? It's getting close now!! How are things going with your new work hours?

And....if she's out there somewhere.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DOROTHY!! Hope you're doing well and we miss you 'round here!! Please stop in and at least say hi!!

Waves to all~~
