Enrollment Periods for streaming sites?

I've noticed that a lot of Pilates streaming sites are going the "Open Enrollment/Closed Enrollment" business route. I'm not a big fan of this business style since it does lure me into spontaneous purchases.

Some the sites that do this are -

> The Balanced Life Sisterhood
> Trifecta Pilates
> Pilates Nest
> Jessica Valant Pilates
> Core Studio (Erica Ziel)

Just wondering if there are other workout sites that do this outside the Pilates world?

Yes ...there are others

Lauren Brooks Playground is one. It appears she only opens twice a year for about a week.

I really hate this business model - to me it is designed to prey on our FOMO.

I honestly don't understand why you would want to stop people from joining when they have the urge.

Seems like you're just giving them the chance to spend their money elsewhere.

Yep. Maybe it works better on retention. People stay and stay because they fear not getting back in. Same as raising the price all the time and grandfathering in old rates.

Wow! I did not realize some sights do that. That is pretty crappy. I hope they don't all go that way and I also hope that streaming sights like netflix etc don't pick up on that business model. Sort of like cable TV model with all the penalties for breaking the contract. Ug! (mind you I haven't had cable TV since 2005 so I don't know what their model is now).

It appears to be lumping all crappy service together and raising prices for subpar equipment
