difit, thank you for starting the new Reading thread!

I have read several boring books but I did like:

Presto!: How I Made Over 100 Pounds Disappear and Other Magical Tales by Penn Jillette (Warning: there is a LOT of swearing in this book!)

Honey, Baby, Mine: A Mother and Daughter Talk Life, Death, Love (and Banana Pudding) by Laura Dern, Diane Ladd

Right now I'm reading A Lucky Life Interrupted by Tom Brokaw and LaRose by Louise Erdrich.

Thanks dfit! I preordered Stephen King’s “Holly” and I’m really looking forward to it. I have a long travel day on Wednesday so the release date is perfect, yay!

I am reading The Sunshine Girls by Molly Fader. It has been pretty good so far.

I finished The Paris Assignment by Rhys Bowen. It was pretty good, but probably my least favorite of her stand-alone novels because the ending seemed a bit far-fetched to me. I'm glad I read it and hope the next one is more of a 5-star.

I haven't posted in quite some time so I don't remember if I posted my last completed book.* I am currently reading The Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray for book group and am enjoying it. I started reading MB's Her Hidden Genius and couldn't stand the writing style so I didn't get past the first chapter.

I have also started The Path to Power by Robert Caro. The first of his 4 books on the life of Lyndon Johnson. It is very well written and easy to read but it goes into more detail than I think is necessary. Like most of his books it is very long. I only read like 1/10 of The Power Broker. I didn't start it again because I went on vacation and the book is too big! It is probably the only book that I have seen that is not in Kindle format.

*The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Safak. It was very good and I highly recommend it.
